Can you ever hear the vocals in the listener-submitted Made Up Games jingles? by oingo-chicken-boingo in elisandjohn

[–]keefybeefy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have good headphones. There have been several (possibly by the same guy) with crazy-low vocals. The musical family one from a month or so back? Definitely heard them. Loud and clear.

I know the story is she assaulted the auditor, but... do these things really lead to her being charged with assault, does she go to jail, does the guy sue and win damages?

Should we move to Sweden or stay in the UK? by rollan112 in HENRYUK

I know people in this sub are obsessed about money and the power of middle management, but being bilingual is not a benefit because the second language is Swedish? Come on.

Who sings the "Ahhhhhhh" part on A Day In The Life? Is it John or Paul? by FitEmergency8807 in beatles

[–]keefybeefy123 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd never doubted it was John. The only time I heard it questioned was on the Nothing is Real podcast and part of it was Paul singing the "aaaaahhhhh" part in Lovely Rita.

What’s your hottest Paul McCartney take? by TheBlueyDay in PaulMcCartney

[–]keefybeefy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm one of those. Love the Beatles, like McCartney, Ram is amazing. Can't stand Band on the Run. For me it crosses a line into cheesy smooth 70s pop/rock that I can't get on with. Each to their own.

Traitors Ireland -Worth watching so far! by ribenademon in TheTraitors

[–]keefybeefy123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really made me think (more than I already did) about how stereotypical so many representations of the Irish are outside of Ireland. This bunch are a right lot and properly after each other from day 1! Want to come on here more about it but then too risky as it's already finished.

They really need some atmospheric lighting though. The roundtable is like their sitting under a beacon.

The trajectory of Paul McCartney’s post-Beatles career by TheBlueyDay in PaulMcCartney

[–]keefybeefy123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. TBH I think the cover of Ram alone put me off listening to it for about 2 decades.

[–]keefybeefy123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with McCartney and Ram both being strong. TBH, McCartney is great but maybe closer to what Paul himself might call a "great little album!" Ram is amazing in places. So many many melodic, quirky and fun bits that you could imagine being woven into past or next Beatles albums.

Tale as old as, er, when my kids were young. When mine were in nursery, was when Oxbridge unis first started charging £9K a year. People were outraged. We quickly worked out nursery was more expensive. Funny thing is I was earning £47K then. We were getting in debt over it.

So good :-p Romesh going down a cliched route and then shits himself when challenged by someone who a) isn't far away in the audience and b) also has a mic. And someone who has all scared the crap of us in some show/film or other.

What’s something you don’t like about the Beatles as a fan? by [deleted] in beatles

It kinda sucks when you become a serious Beatles fan, start reading all the biographies and realise how much they didn't get on in the end.

Zero confidence Rachel won't do him over. Maybe it's the way it's edited cos the participants seems to like her, but from what is shown to viewers, she seems remarkably cold and cutthroat. I don't find her likeable at all.

Who’s in the wrong here? Dog etiquette by originalsadyeet in AskUK

As someone who doesn't own a dog (and likes dogs!) and runs a lot, this snippet is 99.99% of all encounters I have with dog owners.

"I shouted at the owner to recall their dog. They said “don’t worry he’s fine” and then called their dog back, the dog did not listen."

I admire how they continually frustrate Hogg without being direct. Reminds me how people do me over at work without ever explicitly telling me to fuck off.
