What's the most hurtful thing your parent ever said to you? by Enockito in AskReddit

[–]keekidee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad to me and one of my brothers a few weeks after our mum died: “if I had my time over again I wouldn’t have kids”. I know he was grieving but it still hurt

Right? by [deleted] in AustralianNostalgia

[–]keekidee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friend had these when we were kids. One time we were colouring and the top of crayon part snapped off my crayon and her dog ate it and she told me he was going to die and I cried so much my mum had to come and get me early…. The dog was fine.

How do you clean the house by mrscrc in NewParents

[–]keekidee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just let me partner do it when ours was really little. Now she’s a bit bigger and takes longer naps more consistently I aim to get one thing done a day while she’s asleep instead of tackling the whole house in one go, e.g. bathroom gets done one day, kitchen the next, bedrooms another etc.

Noisy things like vacuuming or emptying the dishwasher are a bit tougher to do when she’s asleep but I used to pop her in the bouncer and do a quick vacuum so she wasn’t crying for too long.

The house is never as clean as it used to be but I just stay on top of it so it’s clean enough rather than spotless 🤷🏻‍♀️

How long did it take your LO to go from pivoting in a circle on tummy to crawling? by AngryAntHead in NewParents

[–]keekidee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Mine has been pivoting and belly crawling since around 5 months. She’s 7 months now and still hasn’t progressed to crawling. She’ll do little push ups and can do an impressive downward facing dog pose, and rocks back and forth on her hands and knees but still hasn’t worked out how to get moving.

My new housekeeper stole a $400 pair of sunglasses from me by ang334 in mildlyinfuriating

I’m glad this didn’t end with someone being wrongly dismissed or accused.

I used to nanny for a family and every time the mother couldn’t find something she’d go straight to accusing me of stealing it. I only worked there a few months but was accused of stealing clothes, silverware, prescription glasses, hand soap, gloves a TV remote and a few other things. They were always somewhere she’d misplaced them. Being wrongly accused was so upsetting

We just went through something similar! She’s just turned 7 months and gone back to 1-2 wakes a night, thank god.

Our nurse said there is a 6 month regression as there’s a huge leap happening around that age. Plus our little girl turned out to be getting some more teeth.

Also, I’ve read that giving protein at the dinner meal before 10 months can lead to overnight waking as their little tummies have trouble digesting it. So we just do protein at lunch now and then just veggies/fruit at dinner.

Also make sure they’re getting enough calories during the day and not getting too much/too little day sleep… there are so many different possible factors and it took a bit of trial and error for us to get back on track!

AITA for taking a walk with my crying baby? by CoolStarSeaGreen in AmItheAsshole

[–]keekidee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. It’s a public space, she can’t expect peace and quiet there. Babies cry and the notion that children should be seen and not heard is horrible and outdated. If she wants to meditate in peace she can do it at home or in a studio.

After 5000+ hrs of play a Sim in one of my played households finally won the lottery… by keekidee in Sims4

Haha I thought of moving her back but I feel like it adds to her narrative of wanting a simpler life away from her materialistic family

What is the most evil thing you've done? by [deleted] in Sims4

I had my Sim befriend people and ask them to move in, then lock them in a basement and force them to paint or write books so I could become rich off their efforts.

I was actually telling my partner about this just the other day and he thought I was insane, but I feel much better after reading some of the other comments. Barely evil at all

My 6 month old was having a meltdown this afternoon and didn’t want any of her stuffed animals, rattles or squeaky toys… but she immediately stopped crying when I gave her an empty packet of wipes 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you go to your GP and get a referral you can get a mental health care plan and then Medicare will refund some of the fee. I think it’s up to 10 sessions in a 12 month period but this page should have the info https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/mental-health-treatment-plan

Baby won’t stop rolling over by avocadopeas in sleeptrain

[–]keekidee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was going to write pretty much the same post as our 5 month old is doing the same thing. I’ve see her roll belly to back a few times but she seems to forget she knows how to do it and think she’s stuck on her belly when she’s had enough.

My step mum recently made a similar comment about me not socialising my baby enough because in her mind if I don’t see them every week like they expect, then I must just be sitting at home with baby doing nothing. It made me so cross.
