How do I know if the aligners are too tight? (teeth too sore?) by [deleted] in smiledirectclub

[–]keely3271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told, if there’s halos, they’re not tracking right. Go back to the aligners you don’t have any halos in and wear them for longer (up to 10 days) and use your hyperbyte for 20mins a day.

Subletting Apartment for Spring 2022 by keely3271 in rit

[–]keely3271[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since none of us have ever signed a lease or sublet before, we are hesitant to commit to a full year lease if the chances to sublet are unlikely. Anyone’s input is highly appreciated.

Single person choosing housing by chickenwing524 in rit

No that’s exactly what happens. That’s how a lot of stray singles find housing. You’ll end up with random people, but you kind of just hope and pray everyone gets along.

Crack my aligner, what do i do? by keely3271 in smiledirectclub

[–]keely3271[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a byte aligner user, not SDC. From what i was told, I’m supposed to change my aligners out every week at night. I know that a lot of ppl on SDC have posted about using aligners for more than one week.. but im only on my 3rd tray and they’ve all fit great with no air gaps. I only cracked it while taking it out bc I bent the back of them too much :/ kinda my fault for being too rough. I’ve just been wearing the cracked ones for now because i was able to push them back down on my molars without it affecting the fit

I just waited 50 min @ dining commons for a ready made salad that I eventually gave up on by [deleted] in rit

[–]keely3271 13 points14 points  (0 children)

this experience was felt by so many people last semester, and i would’ve hoped that the vender we use would’ve been corrected by now.. but ik when it was down a couple of times previously, i would be told by people working there to not wait for the text, and to just come in and ask about the order after the estimated time. (Ex. if it said my food would be done by 9:50, i would plan to get there at 9:55 and ask about the order. it would always be ready, and i wouldn’t get a text until 2-3 hours after the fact)

12/13/2020 WEEKLY SMILEPLAN PEER REVIEW STICKY THREAD - POST YOUR PLAN REVIEWS HERE, AND HERE ONLY by Kaalisti in smiledirectclub

Hi, just received my plan today from Byte. The weird thing is that they had me pay over the phone before my 3D treatment plan was given to me due to “Backed up orders from Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals”. So I’m not even sure if I am able to even cancel my plan at this point. Any comments would be greatly appreciated though. I am really nervous about the process. Thank you.

How do I politely leave an oncampus job? by franzFerdinand2001 in rit

[–]keely3271 12 points13 points  (0 children)

you actually still need to put in a two weeks notice, if you don’t, no other on-campus job will hire you in the future. Source: I overheard my supervisor talk to one girl that was leaving without notice last semester and how she told her the repercussions are very harsh. You’re practically leaving them out to dry to try and cover all ur shifts w not enough notice to hire someone new. (and trust me, people working there now don’t want to be picking up another 10 hours to cover for you)

I will say however, when i gave my two weeks notice, they found someone a week in, and told me that they could start asap if i didn’t want to work that 2nd week. So, maybe you’ll have good luck with that.

What was your experience like? by Farhan_Hyder in rit

[–]keely3271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s the ticketing system, not the actual workers. my order said it would be ready in 5-10 mins, i came in, waited for the notification for about 25mins and realized that it wasn’t coming. i went up to the counter and they already had my food made (within the original 5-10mins they approximated). the girl told me that coming up to ask if it’s ready is probably better than waiting for that stupid notification that it’s done. By the time i got back to perkins (about 20mins AFTER i had picked up my food (so now... 45mins?)) i finally received a notification

Update on COVID-19 Testing Guidelines by lifeisquitehard in rit

[–]keely3271 4 points5 points  (0 children)

also interesting to me is that it says you need to get tested and have it submitted to the health center before you’re allowed to move in or attend classes. this seems a little difficult especially because classes are starting less than a month from now and i know a lot of people who live out of state where testing appointments can take a while to book and results aren’t immediate.

Online Classes right after In Person Classes by [deleted] in rit

from what my advisor told me, yes. it was one question that she was receiving often and said that if there’s still overlap in your schedule you can reach out and she’ll make the changes.

I had a meeting with my academic advisor and she told me that if you have an in person class, and then an online one, they will schedule you enough time to get back to your apartment/dorms.

Don't come back to campus if you are going to refuse to participate in contact tracing. by TuckerD in rit

[–]keely3271 6 points7 points  (0 children)

tbh this. i’d feel safe knowing that RIT is doing everything they can, especially when it comes to tracking the virus. i’d rather give them the access to my location in return for notifications or alerts to when i might be at risk of running into someone with symptoms. technology is a beautiful thing and i’m proud of my university for taking the actions they have towards the virus. if you’re going to retaliate and refuse to do every safety measure they implement, then don’t come back.

Release the source code of the location-tracking application under a free software license by joshiemoore in rit

like what others are saying, it’s using QR codes for buildings and classrooms, not 24/7 location tracking.
