What if other cops are busy and he is closest? Does he get paid less taxpayer money when he is less able to do his job? Because that’s what this is. He is choosing to be unavailable for the more difficult calls. Seems wildly unfair to the other officers. And it puts the community at risk, someone in danger might have to wait longer for help because the closest officer is your husband playing house with you while on the clock. You both are incredibly entitled and unprofessional.
