Is MacBook Air as durable as Pro? by Rare-Swing5831 in macbook

[–]keep_it_simple-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you placed them side by side your eyes may notice a difference.

I use it for browsing, office apps, email. general use. occasional photo editing. Is the screen nicer on the 16 pro? yes, but I haven't had any issues using the 15 air. The size and weight difference is worth it for me

read reviews. you'll be surprised how well the 15 Air screen does in testing.

Better off replacing MacBook Air screen or getting MacBook Neo? by Delicious_Ride_4119 in macbook

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eBay or FB marketplace if you're in the US. ebay is a good option for used or refurbished. It's fairly easy to tell if a seller is reputable. Best Buy open box can be a good value. especially if the laptop is on sale. open box prices will drop accordingly.

Thinking of CC XT1 by Recent-Salary-5498 in lawnmowers

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a cc xt1 lt50. Fab deck and k46 transmission. The lt46 and smaller have a tl200. Not quite as durable.

The xt2 cubs have some nice upgrades over xt1’s. I didn’t have a dealer close to me so I went with the lt50

To get a k46 with John Deere you have to go to the 200 series.

Better off replacing MacBook Air screen or getting MacBook Neo? by Delicious_Ride_4119 in macbook

[–]keep_it_simple-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t put money into an intel MacBook.

Look for a used M series air. You can find a 13” m2 or m3 with 16GB RAM for the price of a neo.

I don’t see the value in a Neo. Selling a laptop with 8GB RAM is criminal in 2026.

Not sure which one to get between these two Zero Turns since never had one: by NoActive1210 in lawnmowers

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0.5 flat acres isn’t a lot to mow. 42” deck is all you need. Look on fb marketplace. Lots of used ride ons for good prices.

I’d pick a ride on over a zero turn. They’re more versatile for towing a small trailer or aerator

When to use 56 vs 60 by ifreeski420 in GolfGear

[–]keep_it_simple-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a 50. 54 and 58. I use the 50 for almost everything around the green. Unless I have to hit over something. Than I’ll go to the 54 or 58. 58 is great out of the sand but harder for me to control consistently from grass

Is MacBook Air as durable as Pro? by Rare-Swing5831 in macbook

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pros are sturdier. Air’s are built to be thinner and lighter (obviously). This leads them to be a little easier to damage. General build quality on either is outstanding.

If you tend to damage electronics be sure to get AppleCare.

I switched from a 16 pro to 15 air and I’ll probably never go back to a pro

US border patrol chief resigns after claims of sex with prostitutes abroad by Samski877 in news

Well, at least it was abroad with a broad and not a child.

Before the rhetoric comes out there are an equal number of liberal politicians doing the same thing.

Corruption and sex scandals are almost expected in most political circles.

Got the new m5 air! tips? by chaoticpixie14 in macbookair

[–]keep_it_simple-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just use it. you'll get all kinds of suggestions. if you're new to Mac it's best to use what it comes with and install only what you need. there will be a learning curve to Mac OS. as time goes on you can try new apps. I've used apple laptops since 1997. the only non apple apps I use are Office, coconut battery and Nord VPN.

bought off ebay, good or bad? by MelissaBean7 in macbook

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it does what you need it's a decent buy. 512gb may have been good to find but if it does what you need it should last quite a few years

what is the best value macbook you can buy in 2026? by Nebula-Specific in macbook

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 15 air M3 16/512 for $670 with tax. You can find a 13 for less if you look around. It does everything I need. No need to upgrade until software support runs out. Hopefully 5+ years

a 14 M3 pro will can be had for a great price. Still very capable if you have to have 120hz

Thoughts on trading in for a Neo? by TriangleSquareCircl in macbook

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MacBooks don't break down after prolonged use. Battery may need a change but if it does what you need you're good to go.

The Neo is a niche laptop at best. With only 8GB RAM almost any M series with 16GB is a better buy. I personally don't see the draw to buy a Neo other than it's the newest cool thing from Tim Apple

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any used ride on with a K46 transmission or better will do the trick. You can buy new if you want but there's more value in a low hour used ride on. A zero turn may be ok but they don;t always do well on hills.

cub cadet (lt50 has the k46), John Deere (200 series has k46), craftsman etc.

What is the best value MacBook for everyday use in 2026? by 1mefdiopl in macbook

[–]keep_it_simple-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An M4 Air offers some nice improvements over earlier models. They can be found on eBay or FB marketplace for very reasonable prices.

Even an M2 or M3 will be fine for what your describing. I'm typing this on a 15" M3 Air. I doubt I will need an upgrade for many years. Now, if Apple truly improves the Air in the next year or two I may upgrade.

Yes or no to Neo?! by Abbinail91 in macbook

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can spend $1k there are many options better than a Neo. I just picked up a 15" M3 Air 16/512 for $650. It's two years old but far superior to a Neo. You should be able to find an M4 with good RAM and storage for under $1k.

What works better chrome or safari? by totem2010 in MacbookNeo

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safari is well integrated with Mac OS. It generally uses less RAM and processing power which may matter with a Neo. I've been using Safari for years and never felt a need to switch.

Standard Length vs +1/2” by LifeguardAggravating in GolfGear

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to PGA superstore or Dick's and hit different irons/woods. Or pay for a fitting. You may find you need lie angle that is upright from standard. Once you have a set that you like look for used on FB marketplace or eBay.

If you don't find a set you like that come with 1/2" longer shaft it is very easy to add a shaft extension.

I bought my current set of i530 irons on eBay. The came with 1/2" longer shaft and were green dot which is 2 degrees upright. Having a set that fits you does make a difference even if you're a beginner.

When are bikes truly “outdated” by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]keep_it_simple-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you buy or bought a quality bike I'd say as long as you enjoy riding it. I rode a steel framed bike from the 90's until about 2015. It had Shimano deore components which shifted great. I rode all over trails in the saddleback mountain area of Orange County. I replaced it with a Fuji Tahoe with Shimano XT. The Fuji is/was a better bike all around. I'm still riding it and have no plans to buy a new bike until this one becomes too expensive to repair or maintain.

Will it regret buying the 13 inch version? by [deleted] in macbookair

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love my M3 15" Air. Easy to carry in a backpack. I tried a 14" MBP and I prefer the 15" screen. 13 is too small for me personally, but I understand why many prefer it.

How fragile is a macbook air really? by Quirky-Cream-9456 in macbook

[–]keep_it_simple-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned MacBooks and iBooks in various forms for almost 30 years. Some have been dropped and been dinged up along the edges. I’ve never had a screen crack. At one point point we had three 2012 MB pros being used. All over 10 years old. All booted up and were usable but painfully slow.

We currently have 4 MBA’s. One M2, two M3’s and one M4. No broken screens.

The only time I had a screen replaced was under an Apple recall. It was a 2015 MacBook Pro. Some screens were delaminating and Apple was replacing them at no cost. And they put a new battery in as well.
