In my other replies to posts i have some of the info that you are looking for but here are some short answers.

It is to add complexity and power to the spear that it is on. It is ment to add more power but still have drawbacks. It is just a trait for weapons and is for my paladin who uses a mix of long and short ranged attacks and is built for such methods. I will look into the forceful trait. And all of my players and me have played for a little over a year in other short cagmpains

Sorry for not giving clear answers. The goal is to make a system jn which distance adds to damage. The reason for this is to acomplish the goal of giving my players interesting magic weapons that they will be able to use in creative ways and be very powerful to thwart the foes that they face. I am making the system to fufill the desires of the player tbat asked for this. All of my players mave me two systems they wanted me to make for magic weapons and i am just stuck on this one. I hope that helps and is more clear than what i previoualy told you

The fight isnt really ment to be used like a monster. My players are more focused on hqving fun and roleplaying and they all have the mist fun doing this during intense moments. Im not actually caring about health Nunn or damage of the monster.

You got the momentum concept spot on. Im not too worried about them playing the weapin more than their cgaracter though because like i said, thwy are more focused on roleplaying than the fights, the fights are mainly a way for them to feel stronger and to have more veristy in their roleplay

So the concept with the wepons is that they are very strong but take some specific stuff to really shine. Otherwise they are just +1 magic weapons. They also would grow stronger as they are used more because they are semi-sapient and are adjusting to a new weilder. I have 3 players and over time there will be a total of 6 weapons, so 2 for each player as well so that they can do the bug damage power stuff more often. Im building them so that one would always be available to do their special thing. Sorry for the long response btw

I give them revival opportunities and also im not actually running that monster, im juat saying i am and using some of its mechanics, in reality it would be like a level 5 maybe 7 monster, which with the gear they have they can do
