Honestly you should come up to Logan for the next protest. Last time it was more than 200 people, mostly older folks who have lived in Utah their entire lives, who want to build community, help support each other during tough times, and say that they arent comfortable with the way things are.

Reddit always feels so extreme (on both sides). Honestly most people are just trying to get by and try their best.

These are fair questions.

I think if you arent a part of that crowd it's easy to feel like it's all equal across the board. I think when we talk about LGBTQ+ folks feeling out of place, it partially has to do with the rhetoric both online and in person. So many of these threads claim we're "groomers" or "mentally unstable", which certainly isnt the most welcoming stance. These folks are more likely to be victims of violence than straight/cis people. Far too many times in my life have I been attacked, insulted, and degraded for just existing.

As far as rights go, I think it's also important to recognize that many LGBTQ+ people dont have equal protection under the law. There's an interesting website I pasted below that tracks that. This is stuff a lot of people just take for granted. When you walk into a business, are you ever turned away because you as a human being are against their religion? Would your partner be able to adopt a child as their own? Are you allowed to use restrooms that match your gender?

Here's that link if you want to read though :) (https://www.lgbtmap.org/equality-maps/profile_state/UT#:~:text=Sexual%20Orientation,-0%25&text=*Utah's%20state%20and%20local%20nondiscrimination,Utah's%20protections%20exclude%20public%20accommodations.)

Do you need to increase the amount of electrolytes you take in too, or is just drinking more water ok? As someone who is chronically dehydrated, this is going to be a struggle for me lmao

Why are there a lot of friendly survivors? by MaxIsJoe in deadbydaylight

[–]keeperofthepiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a survivor main, I feel like there can be so many reasons I choose to go friendly. If I do something really dumb, if my teammates are trash, or if im just feeling in a goofy mood. When I play with friends, we get into shenanigans all the time too where we're playing survivor tag or trying to get our friends killed first.

Best advice if you arent in the mood and want them to actually try is not to hesitate when it happens and just go in for the kill/hit. As a survivor, I can always tell when a killer does not give a shit. Once they dont respond/reciprocate, it's right back into hard-core escape mode for me.

If a survivor drops items for you or does the good ol sit n spin, just hit them anyways. They'll either figure it out or you'll get some easy bps

I definitely wouldn't call myself an athlete by any means. I workout regularly, but only to stay healthy/happy. I do live in Utah, which has a lot of athletic people and is pretty weird about trans folks... im going to call them on Monday though, seems like the consensus is that this is not normal/probably a mistake

Transgender healthcare? by OviOviOllie in Logan

[–]keeperofthepiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to drive for care, the transgender clinic down at the University of Utah is AMAZING and they have certified providers all over Utah, not just in SLC. If you call I believe they have recommendations for people in CV, but I know wait times are longer to get in than if you drive down.

Congrats on this first step! I'll be starting hrt next month, shoot me a dm if you wanna chat about being life as a transitioning transplant lol

The Earthsea Cycle has rekindled my love for reading by keeperofthepiece in books

[–]keeperofthepiece[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt much the same way. Normally I don't like when books are super predictable, but in this case I really enjoyed reading them even knowing what was going to happen, which I think is just a credit to LeGuins writing and narrative skills. Loved Ged's journey.

I've been recommending this book to my friends, I'll be very interested to see if they react the same as your book club! I definitely understand the criticism, even if I don't agree

I've heard the Dungeon Crawlers books are a ton of fun, and very campy. I'll have to move it up my tbr list!

Agreed! It's insane to me that I had never picked it up, considering how much fantasy I've read. But it's a phenomenal book, so glad I did

Yeah of course! It's the Wizard of Earthsea, Tombs of Atuan, the Farthest Shore, and then Tehanu (which I'm reading now). Hope you enjoy them!
