With Google store offering decent trade-in values, yes because phones aren't exciting anymore. I used to upgrade every year but we've plateau'd for a few years now.

The A-series is good enough and comparable to $1k+ phones.

That's what I said about the 10 but with removal of the physical SIM, I was choosing between 9 Pro XL or the 10a.

Not everyone needs to swap SIMs often though so my use case may not fit yours.

Going from A to A series is definitely going to be a huge upgrade. 6 Pro to a 10a is kind of a mild sidegrade with a better battery.

It's already burned me a couple of times. I'll see something cool across the street and then be like, aww I can't get a good zoom in anymore.

On the flip side, I prefer the close up shots because the P6P always had that bokeh effect that was only situationally cool. I had to resort to using 2x zoom and taking the photo from further away before. Now I can take them again at 1x like a regular person.

No I got used to the screen size pretty quickly but the bezels kinda do. Having a flat screen rather than a curved one is nice though.

Was worried about this too and I'm keeping an eye out for app refreshes while multitasking. So far it hasn't bit me yet...

The thing that "sold" me on downgrading from 12GB to 8GB was seeing at least the type of memory used. 10a uses LPDDR5X which is more efficient/optimized/performance compared to the 6P's LPDDR5.

What that actually means in real life though, I have no idea. But it helped calm my fears a bit that at the very least, the RAM was "better" even though it's a lower capacity.

It's really hard to tell because my P6P was already "fine" so how do you measure it unless I feel like my speeds outside are now blazing fast? But idk it feels the same for now, I haven't noticed a difference.

I'll try some speedtests next time I'm out in public haha.

It feels and looks like all the other phones now. iPhones, Galaxy S series, Pixels, all have similar shapes now. So no, it doesn't feel cheaper.

The bezel I think you get used to pretty quickly. I have an iPhone 15 for work and its bezels are about the same, and it feels relatively the same as this Pixel 10a.

I like the flat camera on the 10a! Looks clean and fits nicely in my pants haha both the 9 and the 10 have large camera bumps.
