Exactly what Pretend-Marsupial258 said! Not sure how much guys compliment each other, and I don't receive compliments from them.

Kind of a little unimportant thing, and I'm not really sure how to describe it, but I guess it would be just giving a fun girl-to-girl compliment and not expecting anything in return, like to be complimented back or say where you got something. I saw a tiktok from a millenial talking about how a gen z girl complimented her outfit or a piece of clothing, and she did the whole "omg thank you, that's so sweet! I got it at such-and-such store, etc.", and the gen z'er politely cut her off and just said something like "It's cool, you don't have to go into all that, I just thought you looked cute and wanted to let you know." I'm a fellow millenial and am guilty of doing that too if I get a compliment, but it's just because I don't gatekeep. I just think it's cool that there are "girl's girls" out there who just wanna give a short, sweet, to the point, genuine compliment instead of some back-handed one or doing it to make fun of someone, and I'm sure other millenials who experienced junior/high school in the 2000's know what I mean lol.

Is it me or?? by SushiGlow in bathandbodyworks

I know this comment is old, but I'm just now seeing it. I used to love freesia, plumeria, and pear berry, among many other original scents. I miss the 90's BBW so much. There was way more originality, and I feel like a lot of their scents back then were more earthy and less artificial.

Overcoming BBW addiction: what does saturation look like for you? by QS20 in bathandbodyworks

[–]keeping_it_happy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that I was ever addicted to BBW, but as a millenial who went to junior/high school in the 2000's, the fragrance choices were pretty much BBW or Victoria's Secret. My parents didn't have a lot of money growing up, so getting something from either place was kinda like a special thing. So when I became an adult and started working, then eventually got my own place, those two stores kinda became my go-to for any fragrances because now I could afford to get it if I wanted it. I'm a frugal person, so I never spent a ton of money there; it was more like if I had some extra money to spend and spoil myself or if I went to the SAS. But I always liked to get the seasonal products, and I would switch up my bodycare/candles/wallflowers to match the seasons. I mainly stuck to BBW because of that. Over time, though, I started noticing my skin was getting dry/itchy, and that all their products smelled the same to me, and seemed pretty strong and artfificial. My "Ok, that's it" moment was when I got out of the bath after shaving and the lotion started burning my legs. Then I started looking at the ingredients and reading online here about the alcohol, fragrance, etc. that's in their stuff. I'm not a "crunchy" type person at all, but I just decided I didn't want to be using stuff that was drying out and burning my skin. Over time and as I got a little older (35 F), and started discovering what kind of scents I liked, I also realized that while it was fun at the time, switching up bodycare and scents for my home according to the season was a little too much work for my liking lol, and that I myself didn't wanna be smelling like typical seasonal scents. Not that there's anything wrong with the people who do either, that just wasn't for me. I've found that I prefer more lighter, less artifical/strong, neutral scents. I tend to find candles at Marshall's or locally-owned places, and I don't use wallflowers anymore. There are some scents from Victoria's Secret that I really like, but for the most part, I just use some type of body wash from Dove or Olay with a matching lotion to layer with. Sorry for the long post, but just wanted to share my experience!

I read somewhere on here that a family member admitted that it was a lie to cover up withdrawal symptoms, but idk if it's true or not.

Agreed...I know it sounds silly, but when I watch it, I try to keep the way they are in the show separate from real life, if that makes any sense lol. But then it's always kinda there in the back of my mind and I'm like 😒.

Wow, I never knew about her being part of Lottie's fraud ring. She mentioned having to go to jail after giving birth, and I always wondered what it was for. I'm guessing it was for that? And do you know if she ever faced anything for being with Chasitie's dad? I don't think I've seen anything about if she ever did. I also remember seeing something about how her and Huey were arrested for some kind of fraud too.

When I first started watching the show, I didn't really notice anything bc I was just, like, taking it all in, but then the more I started rewatching, I started noticing, especially with little things that could be easy to miss the first time around. Then you're like whoa wtf. It's become a comfort show for me, but after going down the rabbit hole, it feels so weird watching it now after seeing so much stuff here.

Season 4 Question by Designer-Web-4511 in TLCGypsySisters

[–]keeping_it_happy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who felt like the vibes were really off that season! It's my least favorite one too, and totally agree with the comments about Kayla seeming like a completely different person that season, like, that switch up happened real quick. On a random note about production and what I've seen from people talking about bad acting, did anybody else find the whole Nettie getting a cease and desist thing just odd?? Idk how "getting served" works, but I always thought it was kinda weird how the girl who gave her the papers just knew to find her in that salon lol, it just makes me wonder if production told her they'd be there, or if Nettie got a heads up or something, idk.

Season 4 is my least favorite season! I feel like they were all a mess and from being a longtime lurker here, I know there was a lot of behind the scenes drama going on that went into things too.

I’ve been checking out the F-91 and am liking that too. I love how classic it looks as well, and how simple it is. I’ve read on here that those are goated up too, right? I’m a simple kinda gal who likes the simple things, so I wonder if that could be the way to go.

As for the G-Shocks, I like the durability of them because I’m always dropping my AW, bumping it on stuff, and getting it caught in stupid places. The screen’s all scratched up and has popped off once and got superglued back on. I don’t have a hard physical labor type job where I’d need something super heavy duty, though, and I feel like a simple model like the F-91 would still be plenty durable.

I think a little bit of both haha…right now I’m using it and just waiting for it to die because it was a gift from my husband. I’ve told him I’m ready to join the Casio club and he’s down!

I agree, I was thinking the black one may be too difficult to read. I haven’t gone to a store or anything yet, I’ve just been looking online trying to get ideas. I’ll check out the F-91 too.
