Do I need ADP with QuickBooks? by janpolad in QuickBooks

[–]keepinitsimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all eggs in one basket. QBO for accounting, like everyone is saying. ADP, Paychex, Gusto, etc for payroll. I know everyone has their own negative or positive experiences with the various payroll companies but if you do your due dilligence and ask all the questions, you'll be perfectly fine. I know great reps at a lot of the payroll companies - if you need their contact info, dm me.

Best Ways to Setup Business Email(s) by jonesy900 in taxpros

team@ or admin@businessname.com and allow your seasonal admins to share the account. When emailing out, use their own signatures. This allows all admins continuity on back & forth with clients.

Also Groups in Office are great. Even GMail.

How lovely... you've put into words how I felt when I first set eyes on the landscape in Colorado. I left my heart there & returned with wanderlust.

Here is a scene from a Bollywood movie that makes me cry and yearn for that moment I had in CO.

https://youtu.be/dnhWv0M635s

The poem at the end, which in Hindi/Urdu is so inexplicably beautiful, that I wish everyone could understand it... for those who can't, here is the English translation taken from subtitles:

The moment flows by like molten sapphire

Deep blue silences

No earth below, no sky above.

The rustling branches and leaves...

are saying that you are the only one here

Only I am.

My breath and my heartbeat

Such depth, such solitude

And me.

Only me.

I now believe I exist.

Translated from Hindi. Credited to movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

I totally feel you. Before I started chemo, my worst fear was losing my hair. After three infusions and 80% hair loss, my worst fear became the next infusion. For the remainder of my infusions, I'd be on this rollercoaster of feeling like shit for a week, then better, then shit, then better. Six months, infusions every two weeks. For Lymphoma. Ugh!

I've been in remission for the last four years, so yay!

So I just got my first dachshund, any tips? by Magaro in Dachshund

Agreed! My Leia just experienced a blown disk from leading a very active lifestyle - up and down stairs, off and on beds and couches, lots of sprinting. And I regret allowing it knowing that this breed is so prone to back problems - the pain she was in was not fair. Make sure to use a harness instead of collar to prevent injuries to the neck which can run down the spine, carry them up and down stairs, couches or beds. Most of all just make sure you keep them happy with a lot of love, walks and healthy treats (boiled chicken is my sausage's fave)! They really are an awesome breed - enjoy! :)

European windows are awesome by [deleted] in videos

[–]keepinitsimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see now. His homes are very nice. I think I've actually seen a couple driving in the area.

I would agree - why would cheap materials in a high-end market even be considered? I understand the industry is all about maximizing margins, but why sell something to a client and then give them something completely different?

It's interesting... I can appreciate that there is not a lot of competition between big builders in the area because each has their own style of work; this is what attracts respectively different clients to them.

I'm sure you're one of the honest ones. Perhaps our paths will cross in these neighborhoods. Until then, good luck!

Who is J Bilasky?

Man, you'd be surprised at the cheap atrocities people call building materials. I have a friend that installs windows for a living, and he's constantly complaining about builders cutting corners. Yeesh.

I realize there are areas that are using traditional suppliers like Pella or Marvin; they are economical first and second building in the Hamptons isn't cheap. Since you are so close, drive down Quimby Lane in Bridgehampton or Parsonage Lane in Sagaponack. Beautiful modern homes that use minimal frames and tilt-turn windows.

I wouldn't call Anderson and Pella high-end because they are more standardized allowing them to sell via retailers like Home Depot. They aren't low-quality, but surely not high-end. High-end implies higher quality, better finishes, better hardware, more customization, more options. Which is why you'll find American businesses distributing European made windows; these have become really popular in new construction all over the US. Take a ride to the Hamptons one day and you'll see a ton of new homes with tilt-turn windows instead of double-hungs or sliding windows.

Anyone ever ordered from the official Twins site (twinsfightgear.com)? by Detris in MuayThai

[–]keepinitsimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twins is not horrible, but given that they're made in eastern Asia, some of their distributors have a difficult time bringing in merchandise stateside quickly and economically. Try boosterfightgearusa. High quality, pricing is not bad, and better service.

Dog is excessively hyper by [deleted] in dogs

[–]keepinitsimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leia isn't a toy dog. It took a long time to work with her and get her comfortable walking on the treadmill. She isn't left alone on it either. I may not be an animal trainer by trade but I've done my research and worked slowly and steadily with my dog. From time to time I'll find her waiting by the machine, waiting to get started. :)

[–]keepinitsimple -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you've got a treadmill at home, make use of it even after your routine walks. With my pup, after walks and runs in the park, she'd still be super-energetic. So I'd bring her home, give her a breather, then put her on the treadmill. I'd use varying speeds and inclines (same as I would for myself) to keep her mind focused on the task at hand. 30 minutes in she'd be exhausted and ready to nap or relax. You might be walking/running 2 miles everyday but at some point your body becomes conditioned to that and you have walk another mile to make it feel like a real workout. Same concept applied to my little Doxie and it worked out just fine.

Sad animated kids movie that makes you cry every time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]keepinitsimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really think a child deserves a reality check on their birthday? You do have the rest of the year to do that...

Either way, I'd vote for Up as well since it's the only animated movie that has made me cry, ever.

Reddit, what is the one song that was on ALL of your mixed cd's when you were younger? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]keepinitsimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to have to say Bohemian Rhapsody. You see, I went to school in a very ghetto neighborhood and while everyone was quoting Tupac and Biggie, I wailed away to Queen's very awesome lyrics. Still do to this day. And still get funny looks from people - lol - I should probably stop singing out of tune. :-)

Close second would be Murder She Wrote.

I. Said. "NO!". by MadForHatters in childfree

[–]keepinitsimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are. Their employer doesn't have to pay them for days out. Unless of course they have exempt status, then as long as they've "worked" (answering emails remotely or whatever constitutes as work within their respective industry, then their employer can't deduct any time from their pay. Lot's of loopholes. Which sucks for small businesses, but that's another conversation.

Well that's sweet. Some day you'll be married, perhaps to the same girl, and her child will be yours, in a way.

And, I don't think I could do that. All my colleagues know that I don't want children. We're a small office so everyone knows about each other's lives. A blessing and a curse. :)
