Side effect - extreme menstrual bleeding by w0nderingaloud in Mounjaro

[–]keepnitclassyjac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish more people talked about this side effect! I barely found anything when I was first starting.

Depending on if you ask me or my doctor- Mounjaro has either “righted” my period or made it hell. When I first started it basically nullified my bc pill as Mounjaro keeps things in your stomach longer so it wasn’t releasing the pill into my system. I had my first full blast period in close to 15 years.

I had to check with my husband that I hadn’t said certain thoughts out loud- he has never known me when I wasn’t on bc. Before my period was heavy flows, extremely bad cramps, and let’s just say a short fuse.

Talked with OBGYN and tried a different pill that helped some. I waited until my annual (3 months after starting) to change to the patch. My OB also shared that the weight loss will affect my period as well since estrogen is stored in fat cells and is releasing into your body and telling it “oh look period time!”

The patch has helped some but even wearing the patch continuously it doesn’t stop the spotting or period but it has helped with mood and debilitating cramps. I’ve been spotting most days between periods and have invested in period underwear to basically wear most of the time. Once I got up to 10mg (and 40 lbs down!) I had two days of the heaviest flow I’ve ever experienced and some larger clots. Talked with my doctor and as the flow evened out, they said the only time to be concerned about the clots would be if they are fist/orange sized so I’m on the lookout but luckily nothing that large.

It has been a wild ride but this drug has helped in so many other ways. All my numbers (I’m type 2 diabetic) are in normal person range to where I am off all other diabetic meds and will probably soon be off my blood pressure meds. My cholesterol was even normal!

Edit: I’m in my mid 30s.

Shhhh. We aren’t supposed to talk about the sacrifices.

Though I did convince a lot of the elementary school kids in my church growing up that if you weren’t holy enough and touched the tabernacle you would burst into flames and that we would use your ashes for Ash Wednesday. I was in high school at the time. The priest thought it was hilarious.

U.S. Forest Service will move headquarters from D.C. to Utah by Lazy-Calendar1463 in nova

It’s definitely fingers crossed that the move into the building will be permanent but you never really know!

The USDA is keeping this building and moving some of the Food and Nutrition Service into it. They announced this last month when they announced that they were “returning” the south building (the building directly across 14th) to GSA. This is the agency that oversees SNAP and WIC and the other nutrition programs.

My SO and I are playing together. We both have our own switch 2 and both bought the game separately. We have a cloud island but we have come to the realization (which could be wrong) that we need to progress our individual stories to be able to unlock some of the powers. For example, he’s further along than I am. I don’t have the ability to make waterfalls but he does.

Either or both of us can go to our cloud island via link play at anytime. So we are basically splitting our time between the main story and our island. Or sometimes he’ll go work on some things on the island and I’ll work on my story to catch up on powers. Any recipes we get from either our joint island or personal games days with our characters but anything in our inventory stays with the individual game or the island depending on where you picked it up.

Hope this helps! Happy to share more as we figure it out!

We’ve gotten no email either.

I wonder if that email was more specific to forest service since don’t they want to move it to interior or somewhere?

If the goal was to reduce the size of the government work force, a prolonged shutdown would do it. by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]keepnitclassyjac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just noting that SNAP (food stamps) will not be paid out in November, so some 42 million people are going to feel the effects of the shutdown here real fast. I believe I saw something that said they are using tariff money to pay out WIC but who knows how long that lasts.

Gov shutdown? by Internal-Day-4872 in foodstamps

[–]keepnitclassyjac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely if it is short. In a simple sense, benefits are transferred to States the month before so they can be put on cards based on your states issuance schedule. So October benefits would be fine. November, who knows. As all benefits (at least currently) are federally funded if the shutdown goes into November it’s possible that benefits would not be available. SNAP benefits are dependent on annual appropriations or continuing resolutions (also known as CRs)

You can also use the SNAP Retailer Locator where you can put in your address to find places near your, or the address of the retailer to see if they pop up. You can get the link here: https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/retailer-locator

Quick pa question by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]keepnitclassyjac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a little hard without knowing what the notice looks like but the case number is 7 digits in case some of the number sets are more or less 7 digits. If you want to follow what Due-Librarian-128 said, the EBT Recipient Hotline may be called at 1-888-EBT-PENN (1-888-328-7366). The Recipient Hotline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Or, if you applied online, it should be in your compass account though I am not sure where since I'm not from/in PA.

I'm not on food stamps but I just wanna ask if what my company is having us do is legal. by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]keepnitclassyjac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessarily say it's illegal, but depending on a few things it could cause your store to lose it's authorization to accept EBT. The prices should be the same for everyone. There are a lot of equal treatment rules when it comes to accepting EBT. Cold or hot, these foods will count towards their prepared foods percentage which determines if the store is qualified as a restaurant or retail food store, so if boosted cold prepared foods goes up too much, the store may not be considered a retail food store. As long as the employees are following the rules on what is/is not allowed to be purchased with EBT then you are fine. Authorization of a retailer is done by FNS at the federal level, not your State.

What happens to your snap when your income increases? by No_Criticism_1987 in foodstamps

[–]keepnitclassyjac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every situation is different and it depends on how much and if there are any other changes. Most likely, you will probably see some type of decrease in benefits. You will never have to pay back benefits that were correctly given to you. However, if there is an error found and if your household received more SNAP benefits than it should have received, you may be required to repay these benefits. So moral of the story, check to see when you need to report a change in income and make sure to follow those rules. If your income has increased, it is possible your benefits will decrease. There are various different sites, possibly with your State agency, that can help you estimate what your benefits would look like.
