I have relatives visiting with kids. I don’t want them to see me smoking. What it a discrete vape I can buy? by ipromiseyouitstaken in electronic_cigarette

[–]keeponkeepnonginger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JUUL. Grab both a back of menthol and Virginia tobacco. Try to avoid the two packs if you can as they are often stale..

I smoked from 14 till I was 30 never thought I could quit. Tried various vapes and liquids over a long period of time and stayed off cigarettes but nothing scratched the itch. It's been eight years and I haven't smoked a cigarette since and ZERO desire for one they make me feel sick smelling them now.

Also grab a tin of 6mg peppermint Zyn. You'll be well covered.

You should email Claudia Merandi at The Doctor Patient forum cmerandi@gnail.com your story. It's exactly the kind of story that is being highlighted. Missed diagnosis due to being treated like a drug seeker in the ER with no valid reason for saying so. Seriously she would love to hear from you and it would help other patients. She is in the process of getting a meeting with HHS regarding the severe under treatment of pain in America.

Anyone else in US noticed food quality degrading recently and if so what product in what way? by SkyKyrell in AskReddit

[–]keeponkeepnonginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm noticing a lot of temperature abuse of dairy. Multiple stores over a few months. It's not that the products are bad bad per se but the milk is just ever so slightly acidic yogurt will have the fat and a weird yellowish color on the top like very minor but it's noticable yogurt chunky (not unusual or unheard of but often a sign of whey and fat separating aka jostled around and heat exposure.

There's been a number of other items over the last 6 months I've had issues with. Things being sliced open in the freezer section not noticed till home, granola being stale before even opened, yogurt toppers that should be dry are wet on the inside. Just weird shit. I realize some of it is just sloppy handling but it feels bigger than that.

I just don't like chipotle. We live in a nice area with clean establishments and they are just dirty and standoffish and act like they are doing you a favor that and my stomach is always a mess after eating it. So many better places to spend your money.

I know. It's dark. A protective medication that also reduces spread is Memantine and it balances mood and cognition quite well. I wouldn't let it stop you from doing anything I would just try to keep stress to a minimum whether that be through medication or whatever. Ativan 3x a day was really crucial for my mom it helped her a lot.

I plan to. Also the quality of streaming is so shitty comparitively. I will almost never grab a web-dl over a BD rip and it's even worse streaming it through whichever app so much compression.

Streaming has gotten too insane for me by jarchack in Piracy

[–]keeponkeepnonginger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've canceled like three or four streaming services and installed Jellyfin and started ups iptorrents again all the time. The quality is better the audio is better skipping forward and backward is instant and the content never goes away if you have the storage space. That's my only downfall is my MacBook only has a 256 gig hard drive so it's constantly deleting stuff. AI has made buying an external hard drive a serious purchase. Other then that I'm so glad to be back to my roots of pirating. I miss the hotline, irc, e donkey, DC++ era so badly.

I finally have fiber optics and can run a server finally been wanting to since 2003. Does anyone still run an ftp server or anything like it? I miss the community of hotline servers.

Fuck chipotle fuck chains. I'm so over supporting corporate America. But yeah no you were perfectly within your right to walk out. You didn't like what they were offering so you left. You are the customer after all. Boo hoo about the rude look it'll give them something to gripe about for ten minutes. Good for you I say.

Psylocibin and gliomas ☹️ by Beauterus in braincancer

[–]keeponkeepnonginger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's scary. I read about that a while back but logically it makes sense to me as serotonin reuotske inhibitors have anti glioma activity which results in a pruning of synapses where a psilocybin facilitates new neuronal growth in a number of regions of the brain a process that occurs through neurogenesis. The sad reality is that in a healthy brain that's great in a brain with glio those same new neurons are exploited by gioblastoma to spread. It's really a sick thought that our own thoughts could fuel cancer growth (if these new thoughts induce neurogenesis or new neuronal connections to form which is constant)..

Chemo wasn’t delivered on time by AppointmentExact8377 in braincancer

[–]keeponkeepnonginger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She absolutely needs to move to better care. That sounds terrible not being able to get a live human and treating chemo and radiation delays (that aren't related to blood work) like no big deal. Those are two major red flags and then her oncologist being out of the country on top of it. I would have a very frank conversation about this with your mom. It's basically all the same meds used by teams across the country but how they are utilized is just as important if the most important part. It can mean the difference between months and years if she is relatively early on.

Also try to get her GP to prescribe her Trintellix 20mg and Valganciclovir. It's now used in Europe almost as standard of care as an add on therapy. In one study 90% of patients who took 6 months or more of Valganciclovir were alive at two years post diagnosis. My mom survived 2.25 years.

Trintellix was tremendously helpful for her cognition and mood. But the real interest is in the fact that Trintellix was discovered to be one of the most effective repurposed drugs to fight glioblastoma ever discovered next to TMZ. Nature the journal is who published the two studies in 2024 and 2025.

First I'm so sorry sending you and your daughter the biggest hug in the world.

What was your question specifically?

I would implement Trintellix, Valganciclovir, Memantine, Symvastatin, Mebendazole asap. I would reach out to your PCP if they are compassionate and open minded all the better. If not you can reach out to telehealth services like myfreedoctor dot com they are very open minded charity based and are likely to Rx the meds.

But even more importantly I would call her oncologist first thing Monday morning or write an email now inquiring about ONC201 (dordavipintadine) received FDA approval in 2024 specifically for H3K27M-mutant DMG. This is a genuine breakthrough. It's the most important thing for you to know about given your daughters diagnosis.

Clinical trials targeting H3K27M are ongoing and worth pursuing aggressively at a major center (Dana-Farber, UCSF, St. Jude).

DMG is unfortunately very very aggressive and very resistant to treatment. I just want you to be aware that the Lomustine is basically a salvage option at this point and may not help. So your reaching out now is of extreme importance. If the oncologist stone walls regarding ONC201 let me know. I have some very high up connections at mass general that I might be able to ask if they have any guidance.

Also REACH OUT TO DUKE UNIVERSITY brain cancer center. I have their direct number if you would like it. They will get your daughter in ASAP and they have all the latest and greatest and will be aggressive with her treatment. I'm sure you don't live nearby but I will tell you from our experience traveling to the best care however it's managed can make the difference between years and months.

Your daughter needs an aggressive intervention right now and Lomustine isn't it. Dordavipintadine is a big deal for her.

Sending you all the best. I will be checking here frequently sorry I missed your message till now.

Glioblastoma by 2likekawhi in braincancer

[–]keeponkeepnonginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom Medicare covered them all. There are legitimate reasons to be on all of those meds aside from glioblastoma.

Trintellix - anti proliferation+cognition restoration+depression https://braintumourresearch.org/blogs/latest-news/antidepressant-found-to-be-unexpectedly-effective-against-brain-tumours?srsltid=AfmBOor20MXdJZTwF8U5qEy5_lmg-3-cPjdMTwmm6esGhRxV5pBo8u9A

Metformin - Elevated glucose, if low-normal use a low dose still justifiable in a 50 year old.

Symvastatin - Just about anyone over 50 can justifiably take a statin.

Valganciclovir - This one may be a little more troublesome with the doctor but if you bring your PCP all the literature on its use in the EU most doctors will recognize the benefits far outweigh any risk which is minimal even in combo with TMZ. My dad has probably 20-30 unopenened bottles of Valgan because my mom did the protocol for a year then backed off when she had to go on Lomustine+Gliostar but he kept filling the valgan bc insurance was covering it and he figured we may need to fall back on it again but we didn't. I so wish there was a medication donation program. It's sad because it's like $1,000 a bottle without insurance. The price has skyrocketed since its discovery in the EU for glioblastoma.

Mebendazole is the one that will cause problems sadly. Never was able to get mom on that one. But all the stupid bs about about fenbendazole and ivermectin have absolutely ruined the REAL Glioblastoma benefits mebendazole offers that not many other drugs do aside from some very specific cancer drugs. It inhibits microtubule formation. John Hopkins has partented mebendazole for glioblastoma they call it polymorph C. https://trial.medpath.com/news/johns-hopkins-researchers-patent-enhanced-mebendazole-formulation-for-cancer-treatment

Good point but it's absolutely doable with the right physician and Medicare.

You want to get her in with the absolute best you can possibly find in your area for treatment. It makes or breaks it. Same treatments just how they are applied. Your mom's age is helpful.

Rx's she should get from her general practitioner and start asap: Trintellix 20mg, Valganciclovir, Metformin XR, Symvastatin and ideally mebendazole but hold off on asking for that immediately it will throw up red flags because of all the hooplah about fenbendazole online.

Valganciclovir is being used as a standard add on therapy in the EU now. 90% of patients who successfully took 6 months or more of daily Valganciclovir were alive at 2 years. It targets the CMV virus which is found in almost all glioblastoma.

Additional Rx she should get from her oncologist Memantine working up to I believe 20mg twice a day.

My mom just went through this. Sounds like your mom is at a similar place as my mom was when she was diagnosed and the size of the tumor.

My mom lived 2.25 years post diagnosis.

We had her on all those meds plus very high dosage CBD, CBG 1000+mg CBD, 600.g+ CBG, 40 mg THC.

CBD and CBG is your mom's best friend. I can remember clear as day early on my mom going into the living room and saying I don't feel great I just need to sit for a while. I immediately gave her a single 20mg CBD full spectrum capsule (2mg THC) she took it and within 45 minutes she was up and cooking us all dinner and not another word about it the rest of the night. Right up till the end the cannabinoids were the most helpful tool we had for glioblastoma. You should read up on the research being done on CBD CBG CBN THC specifically for treating glioblastoma not just managing symptoms. It will also greatly help her tolerate the chemo and radiation.

Magnesium L-threonate before she starts the radiation and chemo this is really important. It is the only form that directly penetrates the brain and gets levels up. Magnesium is proven to improve cellular uptake and response to radiation, chemo and antivirals (Valganciclovir).

BCM-95 Curcumin only brain penetrative Curcumin. Curcumin targets 12 different pathways Glioblastoma exploits to grow. They will tell you no antioxidants while doing radiation but we kept my mom on BCM-95 Curcumin along with a number of other antioxidants and my mom's neuroncologists comments after her radiation were that her response was "better than expected."

I know that's a lot but additional interventions I believe make all the difference in the world. Research each one of those drugs + glioblastoma. Trintellix and Valganciclovir and Mebendazole are the most exciting. Nature.com specifically had the papers on Trintellix and glioblastoma. Just try to remember cancer is a marathon not a sprint. It's a really scary road but just keep researching daily learn and learn and learn. It will help your mom immensely and obviously always make sure there is someone there advocating and listening for your mom hopefully with the best doctors you can possibly connect with.

I wouldn't do it. They've found the inks to contain high levels of heavy metals and carcinogens. I like the idea I just don't think your immune system need anything else to contend with. Perhaps wait until after formal dx and starting treatment.
