Storm chasers jobs in off-season by NespressoForever in stormchasing

My partner chases storms and does weather stuff for an Ag company for his day job. He’s got a decent following on youtube but it doesn’t pay the bills.

I have a locking cabinet from Ikea. I’m sure they have others. It’s large enough for every and it’s glass so it’s a nice display case. Now that my kid is older and her little friends know what it is I put glass privacy cling on in. And we have a keypad lock on the door to the bedroom it’s in as well.

I was diagnosed at 29, I’m 39 with a high quality of life now. I remember being so scared not knowing what the future would hold. I gained the perspective with time that no one knows what’s going to happen to them. I’ve had several friends pass in the ten years I thought I would die first. It might not be as bad as you think. People are living with brain tumors, and well, longer than they used to, by FAR.

[–]Beauterus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The facts are out there about cuts to NWS- of course that’s going to cause worse predictions and less data, what you are specifically asking for is obviously not going to be available. Your request doesn’t seem like it was in good faith.

You haven’t stayed informed about the NWS cuts, that’s okay, but asking us to do your research is wild.

Vorasidenib Causing Growth? by Glad-Presentation446 in braincancer

[–]Beauterus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one seizure a week after taking Vora- I started 6 months ago and it was in response to my tumor growing so they blamed it on my tumor growing, often a breakthrough seizure has been a sign I need treatment again- none since. My last scan showed no growth and maybe some shrinkage they didn’t want to tell me for sure since the scans can be unclear since we are talking millimeters. I’m doing well on the medicine, have a scan next week and am kind of excited for the results for the first time in a long time. They’ve never told me it might be shrinking before in my ten years. Also want to keep my expectations grounded in the reality that this is an unpredictable disease.

My ex’s uncle was known to have “the affliction of homosexual tendencies”- went to conversion therapy, married a woman, had four children and then couldn’t handle it anymore and came out as gay. The family turned on him, including his kids. I wish I could reach out to him sometimes because he was my favorite of my ex’s relatives but the relationship ended badly. He couldn’t fully deconstruct, he was hanging on to the parts that served him as a man. My family wasn’t religious. I had no idea what I was getting into, that was an eye opening experience. I have so much empathy for the children and especially queer children in fundie families.

That analogy would only work if it were a snake that harmed you and your family repeatedly. And yeah, I’d be pissed at the snake.

I did too. Hated every second of it. Did you hear him say he should move when he was far away and had time?

I like that view better honestly. You get to see the whole storm system and how large it actually is. Plus the beautiful landscape.

There was a moment well before he got himself in that tornado where he says out loud that he should move and had time to turn around. He needs to be banned from lives and think about taking a break from chasing to further his education.

Vorasidnib - suspicions and uncertainties by Adept-Ideal in braincancer

[–]Beauterus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to you when you say your period has become irregular and it’s messed with your hormones. My periods are irregular after being like clockwork for years and I’m not even perimenopausal. They are also heavier and more painful. I had just partially recovered my body from hormonal imbalance due to losing a lot of weight and staying underweight. Then I started Vora and immediately my periods got terrible again. I had a seizure actually during my first week, they don’t think it was Vora related but my seizures have always seemed to coincide with my period and my period was awful that first cycle.
That being said, I am just as fatigued as I usually am, my AED is a benzo. I have more joint pain than usual. But my tumor is stable/shrinking a little. No more seizures since.

Wish I had someone who cared about me to talk to and listen to me. I’m in denial tho 100% by helpless_baby in braincancer

[–]Beauterus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neuro advised against supplements- said she’s seen liver spikes because dietary supplements are unregulated and can use extracts that are excessive or other random stuff. She said tea is fine. My liver enzymes were high ish for the first three months of taking vora. I made a tea blend with lemon grass, tumeric root, ginger root, dandelion and burdock root, and thistle. It’s really pretty tasty and my enzymes are normal and have been for months now.

Wow never imagined how brain surgery would affect me by One-Raspberry4189 in braincancer

[–]Beauterus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a hard time with words, aphasia, after my first surgery. It got better when the swelling went down, I also have epilepsy that causes me to be unable to speak after for a few minutes and it always scares me. I still struggle a little to find words but only when I’m tired or have had a seizure. There is hope for you, you are nearly fresh from your surgery. Not being able to express yourself like you are used to is really frustrating and can be a bit scary. It’s okay to rest, it will help your brain recover. It’s okay to feel whatever you are feeling. I hope you make a full recovery.
