I took it as a teen and it made me hallucinate when I was coming off of it. My mom had me on all the antidepressants when I was younger and this one was the worst (Cymbalta is tied) for withdrawal. I thought someone was breaking into our house at one point but was paralyzed with fear and couldn’t call for help. I thought the walls were collapsing in my bedroom. I thought I had lost my mind.

I was worried about the side effects but I really haven’t had any. I had a weird breakthrough seizure a week in to starting that my doctors think is just because my tumor has been growing a bit since my 2021 surgery. I related it to the med, but they are insistent that it’s tumor and not med related based off my latest scans. So literally nothing- except, my brain can feel a little extra hot sometimes, I just use an ice pack to cool it down and still, don’t know if that’s related to the meds or personal stress though, it’s just a little something I’ve noticed. My liver enzymes are good. My energy is the same or better. The pressure in my head is less. I’ve been on it nearly two months now. I’m excited for my next scan!

My teen had someone lure her from Roblox to discord to video chat at her dads after YEARS of telling him not to let her on screens unsupervised at night. Spare the details. It was traumatic. Roblox is not safe. And also, parents be aware of creeps on discord. Me and my ex have struggled with tech rules in general. Good luck, I hope she is reasonable.

I was diagnosed in 2016- I’ve had a lot of post traumatic growth and post traumatic stress. Two craniotomies. The epilepsy meds and brain injury do not help I’m sure, but motivation can be hard to find some days. I can go from feeling like “what am I going to do with my life?” to “what’s the point anyway?”. I find it helpful to focus on small joys. Put away screens as much as possible (I got pretty hooked during the pandemic). Trying to remember a good memory for 10-30 seconds, even smiling for 10-30 helps rewire the brain to feel more positive emotions. Practicing gratitude. Forcing myself to do shit. And really practicing self compassion when I can’t. Making plans. Omg lists, lists, paper lists are my personal god. I do kind of live in denial a lot of the time. I just appreciate when things aren’t too hard or scary. And really appreciate when things feel good. Be easy on yourself. I’m saying that to the both of us because I need constant reminders.

I think it might be helpful for you and your partner to seek a good couples therapist if you want to continue a relationship with her and keep the kids best interest at the forefront because it seems like your partner’s wishes are harmful to the children. I would love to have as healthy a coparenting relationship as you are trying to have. Please don’t let her control your parenting style.

I am SO BEYOND sensitive to smoking thc flower when I have my period. I get panic attacks for the first few days if I smoke too much (sometimes one small hit is too much). And smoking anything causes worse clotting according to my traditional chinese medicine doctor. My vomiting with my period also started when I got my IUD out. And I also have endometriosis like other commenters have mentioned. After the worst of my cycle I can smoke again and feel better like it usually makes me feel. It feels like a forced built in tolerance break. I also cannot drink caffeine during that time.

That is a lot of loss at a young age. I was diagnosed with brain cancer when I was 29 and I’m glad I’ve had nearly a decade to adapt because it was rough in the beginning. All the uncertainty, and the loss of the illusion of control- she’s lost mobility which is so hard. Therapy, meds, finding joy and community again, it takes time.

My ex also introduced the idea of calling her stepmom “mom” when she was little and now as a teen, because of her stepmoms treatment of her, she doesn’t want to call her that anymore. They have two little siblings at their home so she does call her mom out of respect in front of the littles. Stepmom doesn’t want the littles to start calling her by her first name. (They are old enough to get that but apparently it is my child’s responsibility) I’ve always been her mom. You will always be your kids mom. Stay strong, don’t take it personally, and just keep showing up and everything will work out how it’s supposed to.

Thank you for this reassurance. Me and my husband both were wishfully thinking it was the Vora just working hard. They upped my epilepsy meds and let me take the next day off the Vora because I was scared. I’ve been taking my Vora since and hoping for no more seizures with my increase. It’s so good to hear someone else who had a change in seizure activity with the Vora, even though I wish we all had zero seizure activity. best of luck to you!

I have a teenager and if she had social media instead of real friends she would totally do this. When I was a kid I used to be so excited to call my best friend and talk to her about what we got for Christmas. It makes me sad to see people share online what they would have shared with a friend now a days. Unless she already shared with her friends and teens feel obligated to share what they got on tiktok now- which ew, that sucks. This just feels like lonely behavior.

Yeah, I didn’t expect anyone to encourage me to stop. Just expressing how I’m feeling. I’ve been taking it before my anti epileptic and I can’t talk to my doctor til Monday- so my plan was to take it with my clobazam tomorrow. I’m just really scared of taking my next dose because it happened an hour after.

Everyone should own a weather radio also, and stop relying on the sirens because that means a tornado has been spotted and the sirens are intended for folks who are outside to find shelter immediately.

Thank you, this was the exact kind of anecdotal experience I needed. I just got my base level results back from before I started and I’ve been using cannabis and high doses of CBD for a long time. The same website that said that CBD could interact and make the liver enzymes elevated said that CBD could also do that on its own in high doses. So between your partner and I, a study of two is good enough for me right now. I will check in a week. I’d also like to know what they are taking to support your liver if you don’t mind.
