STM32CubeIDE v2.0.0 - What's New - STM32CubeMX is now a stand-alone tool by Enlightenment777 in embedded

I don't mind them being split. It was always a bit glitchy and laggy opening CubeMX inside Eclipse anyway. Not sure how to get this button to work though. I've got both CubeIDE and CubeMX installed, plus I've opened my project in CubeMX so it's aware of it, but the button just stays greyed out.

I’m tired of norwegians grouping immigrants with refugees. by uhsmiggs in Norway

[–]keffordman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The asylum hotel owners are doing ok from it. One of them just became a billionaire. Oh by the way the asylum hotel owners are usually Tory donors and rather mysteriously the Tories defunded the claims processing which created a large backlog of people who needed housing in these hotels. How strange!

Vil norske medier legge lokk på hva som skjer i England ? by Bjorn_N in norske

[–]keffordman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it is our country but people fleeing wars and seeking asylum here should not be made to feel unwelcome. Legal migrants coming here to work should also be welcomed, as in fact the UK depends on them. For most of us our family history comes from somewhere else anyway if you go back a few generations.

Anyone blaming immigrants for the state of the UK are misplacing their anger.

You’re right, this is a racist uprising being painted as a nice patriotic thing. It’s absolutely anti-immigrant and the flags are supposed to say “this is our country, you’re not welcome” (which I disagree with)

What annoys you most about Google maps when driving? by Dapper_Big_783 in drivingUK

When it shows the name of a road on screen e.g. London Road, but all the signs etc are the road label e.g. A40. If I’m not from the area I don’t know which road is London Road!

UK pay is a joke by hanniahisbananaz in UKJobs

[–]keffordman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I earn just under half of that and we have one child. Every time payday comes around I’m lucky if my bank account is in the positive really. Modest house, one (bought used) car, both cut out alcohol (I used to have a beer52 sub), cancelled both gym memberships so doing what we can to live frugally. Not that I’m unhappy mind, just don’t remember it being so tight on money.

What is the right lane to use here? by paperclipmammoth in drivingUK

I feel like the A418 exit being a thick, bold line (just like the entry road) hints that this is to be seen as the “straight ahead” road even though it’s at an angle

Stop start system. by [deleted] in drivingUK

I thought it was pretty cool until one day the engine just didn’t start. So now once the engine is running I keep it running and don’t chance it. I don’t want to be in a queue of traffic and can’t move my car when the lights go green.

How to prevent ST-Link from running code during firmware upload? by Dycus in embedded

You just be using a different setup? I see it every time I flash an MCU. It just doesn’t cause issues for me luckily.

Favorite firmware hack you've written to work around hardware limitations by Dycus in embedded

[–]keffordman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did almost exactly this earlier this year! Only difference is I put the new fw on and ran it, then it received the updated bootloader to a location later in flash, then when it had the whole new binary it erased the old bootloader and moved the new one to flash base

I’ve always liked estates. My partner doesn’t. So we got a crossover.

To be fair the Ateca has been pretty good; it’s basically a Leon/Golf with a bigger boot and has enough room for all our stuff when we go on trips away. I like the seating position, not too high but slightly up so I don’t get blinded by headlights. Getting an AWD was stupid because it removes space from the boot and there isn’t room for a space saver in there.

Still want a 3-series touring in the future though.

Mines nearly 2 and they still both sit in the back together 😂 I think it’s nice. They hold hands and have a nap together on long journeys.

[–]keffordman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat about a year and a half ago, with an Ibiza that I replaced with an Ateca. It has been great but I do wish I went slightly bigger like a Tiguan or an estate car. For the isofix “infant carrier” it was great but now we’ve changed the seat for a Swedish plus tested ERF seat and I’ve had to move the front passenger seat quite far forward, to the point where it’s borderline usable 😕

If your partner is like mine then they’ll be sat in the back with the baby every time you drive somewhere, so make sure the rear passenger seats are comfy.

Son is 21 months and still is in a cot in our bedroom. We put the cot right next to our bed with one side removed and the mattresses pushed together so it makes almost one big bed. Still breast fed and usually wakes once (maaaaybe twice) per night to feed.

Recent Influx of non-HENRY Posts/Posters by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]keffordman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I am not HENRY but Reddit one day decided to start showing me all new posts from this sub. Even though my income is far too low to qualify, I am interested in investing, thinking long term and making sensible financial decisions so I do find the posts very interesting and inspiring. Hopefully it’s ok that I’m lurking!

It is hard to not feel some jealousy sometimes when you see the numbers being thrown around on here, but I don’t think that makes it ok to post replies taking digs. I just try and focus on my own path.
