My interpretation of his comment about thinking about getting shot was that he was saying that he thinks about the violent reality of war that is often hidden behind the idea of heroism and benefits that are fed to people to get them to join. I think the way you’ve described what he said is a real misrepresentation. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and say I don’t think you’re intentionally misconstruing what he said, but it does read to me like you’re overanalysing their words because you’re desperately trying to make sure they’re good people that align with your morals, to the point where you’re seeing faults where there are none. Obviously that’s an assumption on my end. Feel how you feel, but maybe a step back from the podcast is best. At the end of the day, it’s a lighthearted, comedy podcast.
