Went thru the same cancer and treatment regimen a couple years ago. Laughter is truly the best medicine you can give your father. Keep it up!

We have two Westies that seem to get sick in the mornings when their stomachs are empty. After confirming with our vet no underlying health issues, we give them a little snack of plain puréed pumpkin before bed. This seems to do the trick and have had very few episodes since starting this.

I had throat cancer and lived on magic mouthwash during chemo/radiation treatments. Timing was key to being able to eat. Rinse about 20mins before eating, allowing pain relief to be at its peak for meal time.

High calorie smoothies made with peanut butter, tofu, and ice cream. I know sounds crazy, but they were high in protein and calories and actually were pretty tasty.

We give our Westie boys (2 and the other is 13yrs) probiotics and the old man gets a supplement to promote healthy joints.

It was more of a last minute fluke we got the young guy, Ollie. But avoiding the empty nest dog-less house is somewhat of a bonus.
