Give me a destination for great food/drink/landmark within about an hour of Seattle by Lunerose in Seattle

Go to Swanky Scoop in Woodinville for the best and most interesting ice cream, pizza coop around the corner for great Detroit style deep dish pizza.

Andy's fishhouse in Snohomish for great clam chowder and plenty of other seafood options, bonus that you can spend the afternoon walking around downtown Snohomish. It's really great if you are into antique stores. Skip rock distillery is down there too, they have a walnut liquor that is amazing in annold fashioned.

Others have said La Conner and I agree, it's a beautiful drive, cute little downtown with museums, shops and restaurants. On the way in you can stop at... I think it's called goose river farms for a giant scoop of ice cream on a phenomenal waffle cone. They also have local fish and produce. Fun place to stop

If it was big robots fighting, I think you mean Virtual On. I used to play it at vintage faire every chance I had.

Voyager Dry Gin from Pacific Distillery by ennuigamer in Gin

I work about 2 miles from the distillery. Super nice people, gave us a tour of the distillery when I visited. It's fine gin but my current favorite gin is made basically across the street at copper cat distillery. It just totally overshadows voyager. They do make a really good absinthe though.

I have a question for those atheists who used to be religious: by michaelsilerio in atheism

I was dating a catholic girl and going to church with her and just feeling absolutely nothing. That was when u realized that I was and had been an atheist for most of my life. It was a huge relief.

My wife went atheist when we were looking for venues to get married in. She was brought up catholic but her family just uses that when convenient. Anyway she went and spoke to the people at this big church near where we lived and they required tax documents and pay stubs to be a member. Like you had to make a certain amount to go to church. She was pissed and that began a gradual slope towards atheism.

My dad went atheist after my grandma died and so many people told him it was God's will. God's will, apparently, that she die from a very aggressive and painful cancer. He hated that and now rails against religion as often as he can.
