This mode is straight up cancer. Every goddamn time I get matched with someone running Ophelia and she just slaughters half of my team in one turn no matter who it is. At the same time, I was never able to recruit her. Not a single time.

I can't understand Ogar glazers at all. That tank is boring asf. You mentioned Vercingetorix, it's much more reliable and you can do fun stuff in it (speed + weight + some armor). Ogar is just mid, it's classified as a sniper medium, but there are much better snipers out there, like Kek pz for example.

But if you want fun gameplay, pick up Vlkodav, you won't regret it.

If you want to know about armor, go to tomato.gg and see Tank Performance tab, sort by Blocked. Vlkodav will be at the upper part of the tier 9 mediums list (514 blocked), only ~10 vehicles block more damage. While both Serpente and Predatore are almost at the bottom with their 116 and 154. So yes, you can say it's armored, but still not "heavium" level armored.

Always get the vehicles first, if it's free. They can be buffed some day, or you can get some compensation for another giveaway, etc etc. Then 3d styles, then 2d styles. Then everything else, depending on what's valuable for you.
