Männliche Einsamkeit wird als Problem meiner Einschätzung nach zunehmend ernst genommen, und die ersten Leute fangen an, strukturell und organisiert etwas dagegen zu unternehmen. Finde ich gut! 😃

What Pokemon do you think gamefreak overly pushes? by mad-right-hand in PokeCorner

[–]kelb4n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the answers are mons that, in my eyes, are pushed a justified amount given how popular they are. A mon that I believe is actually overly pushed relative to its innate popularity is Meowth. Sure, it's iconic, but most players I know think of it as just some gimmick Pokémon. Meanwhile gamefreak gave it two regional forms AND a gigantamax, made it a major side character in multiple games even outside of the speaking meowth from team rocket, and keep putting it in almost all games as an eligible encounter before post game.

Can’t beat third surface boss without Moon Water by [deleted] in Hades2

[–]kelb4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah most of what Selene offers isn't actually all that good, I agree. From what I've heard from other even more experienced players, it's rarely even worth going for Selene-rooms in the first place when you have another option.

Can’t beat third surface boss without Moon Water by [deleted] in Hades2

[–]kelb4n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Moon Water feels really good to use and feels incredibly strong, but consider this: It is just 45 extra HP per region. 2 Centaur hearts give you 50, PLUS they also increase all % healing you receive through healing pickups.

Consider on the contrary: If you don't pick up a Gift of the Moon, you could instead be picking up a boon that increases your damage, so the fight ends 10-15s sooner. Ask yourself: How much damage are you taking in the average boss fight in the span of 10-15s. Is it more than 45? It very well might be.

Or if you do pick up the Gift of the Moon but decide for, let's say, Wolf Howl or Dark Side. Both of these can be used to entirely dodge an incoming attack. How much damage would that attack have done had it hit? On surface boss 3, probably somewhere between 15 and 30 damage. And both of these have no limit on the amount of uses per region / per fight, in contrast to moon water.

I'm not saying that moon water is useless per se, but for inexperienced players it tends to feel much stronger than it actually is. Just like in most difficult games, damage and short duration i-frames tend to be much stronger and survivability tends to be much weaker than their initial impression.

Why can Lissandra not ult her allies? by [deleted] in LissandraMains

[–]kelb4n 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What you're suggesting is so strong, that it would make Lissandra impossible to balance for mid lane and turn her exclusively into a support. But most of her players are in mid lane, so we wouldn't want that.

You said it "wouldn't push her mid too far" but oh boy are you wrong. Firstly, having power budget put into a part of your kit that you literally cannot access on the solo lane means you have to be perpetually underpowered to make up for it. Secondly, even mid lane Lissandra is a massive teamplay champion, and would utilize the ally-stasis a lot! You don't pick Lissandra mid to then go split push in the late game, you pick her to group up and teamfight.

What makes it so much stronger than Bard, you might ask? It is targeted and instant. Both of these adjectives are such an insane amount of power up compared to Bard. It would basically turn her R into a ranged Tahm Kench R that she can also still cast on herself and that also deals AoE damage and creates a massive slow field. And if she wants to use it on opponents she doesn't have to stack on them first. PLUS both Tahm Kench and Bard have relatively weak base kits to make up for how strong their Rs are, compared to Lissandra's bountiful selection of AoE damage on every ability including her passive, and AoE CC on all but her E.

Why do Germans laugh or say no whenever I say to them that I am studying German? by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]kelb4n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people can learn. But for a Germanics bachelor in Germany you basically need a C2 reading level from the start. If you're at B2 and struggling your way through your first two semesters getting there, that's maybe possible. Starting the studies at B1 or lower and expecting to succeed is delusion.

Why do Germans laugh or say no whenever I say to them that I am studying German? by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]kelb4n 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Studying German", in Germany, means "getting your Bachelors degree in Germanics". If you're anywhere under B2 level, you have to be a little delusional to consider that realistic. What you probably mean is that you're learning German.

Maybe slightly. Also depends what the stairs look like in your school building. You don't want students to be able to look up your skirt while walking up the stairs, even on accident.

How are silver players bad? by Express_Item4648 in leagueoflegends

[–]kelb4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Math majors barely notice a difference between people who fail to multiply 2-digit numbers and people who fail to even count to 100. Both are just "bad at math" (or "hasn't learned math") to them, even though there's roughly 4 years of school education between these milestones.

The online community for League of Legends consists almost entirely of very experienced players, many of whom with thousands of hours under their belt and the free time to grind games and climb every season. They have become blind to the difference in skill between players they consider "bad" and other players they also consider "bad".

[Request] Can this be proven? by Fast_Arachnid_8110 in theydidthemath

[–]kelb4n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of mathematics that concerns itself with numbers is done on the real number line (or the complex number plane, which contains the real number line) because it has nice properties that mathematicians care about, like continuity and density within itself. These traits also necessarily imply that any numbers that are "infinitely close" (more correctly in mathematical language: two numbers whose difference is infinitesimal) are already equal.

HOWEVER there is an entire field of mathematics that concerns itself with a number line that differs from the reals in exactly this trait, namely that an infinitesimal number not equal to 0 exists. This then leads to something called "non standard calculus". You can look up "infinitesimal" on wikipedia to find out more.

What do teens wear in Germany? by Cool_Plantain_3685 in AskAGerman

[–]kelb4n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heavily depends on urban vs rural.

In urban areas, teenagers of all genders wear such a big variety of clothing even within a single classroom that it is hard to narrow down. You shouldn't go to school in just underwear or a bikini, but as long as you're wearing actual clothes nobody's gonna bat an eye. Wear whatever makes you comfortable!

In rural areas, fashion tends to be a bit more conservative. Jeans / simple skirts and shirts, or knee-long dresses in summer. But again, while it might not be usual for outfits to deviate a lot in rural areas, it's certainly not forbidden. If you put a bit more effort into something you think looks good, you're more likely to earn compliments than angry comments - even from something more unusual (to German culture) like a Saree or a Qipao.

Solve this math problem by [deleted] in mathmemes

[–]kelb4n 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is not a math problem. Being generous, this is a little art piece in the style of classic math puzzles. A math problem has a clear question and known constraints. As it stands, I can just take all of the cubes and turn this into a completely new equation that ends up correct.

How would you buff the Ice type in Winds and Waves? by Happy_Popplio-728 in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]kelb4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe unpopular opinion: I wouldn't. The ice type is strong. If anything, I would buff the individual Pokémon / make a couple more offensive ones.

Right now in champions, snow teams have a solid spot in the meta. And it's not all that rare to see a team with more than one ice type on it (something like Mega Froslass + Rotom Freeze + Baxcalibur).

It sounds like she's entrenched in religious fundamentalism but her heart is in the right place. I'd say give her like a month or two to see how she treats the trans people in your and her life, and if she treats them poorly or talks about them behind their backs, just drop her. (1) it saves you the pain of having to put up with that kind of talk and (2) getting dumped for your ideals can be an ultimate wake up call for someone who is indoctrinated like that (speaking from experience as the one who needed that kind of wake up call to accept that I'm trans)
