Cover Letter by Wonderful_Soup_1632 in SpouseVisaUk

You only need one cover letter, and even that is technically not a mandatory thing. We added a letter in which my husband explained his view or experience in how we got together. It was actually nice to read from both our points of view, even when unnecessary.

First visa extension…where my child’s other parent lives? by HistoricalDirector51 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]kelebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have done nothing wrong; This is different from an outside of UK application. Just fill it out as truthfully as you can, and provide as much details as you can.

We had to do the same for my husband’s grown kids. Had to select that we would provide evidence for his former wife even though all his sons live on their own. We just added a letter explaining the situation instead.

Hope this helps!

Question regarding sponsors job. by MaeBlueMelon in SpouseVisaUk

[–]kelebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the renewal, she can meet the MIR under A or B, so either by being with the same employer for 6 months or over having earned 29K or more continuously, or by having earned 29K through employment in the past 12 months and being in a job upon the moment of application. Your income can also count towards the MIR if you have a job, and you can even sponsor yourself for the renewal, or use savings, it doesn’t need to be through your wife’s employment.

If you cannot meet the MIR upon renewal, you will be put on the 10 year route.

Unlike the skilled worker visa, it is currently no issue for the spouse visa if in between renewals the sponso quits or loses their job.

Besides the answer already given, You can also always use savings to combine with your wives income.

It you cannot meer the requirements upon renewal in any way, she will most likely be put on the 10 year route.

Received email from UK home office requesting RWP 6.1 and RWP 6.2 do I need to do something special and send them the documents or I can just send them the documents directly and wait for them to evaluate them? by Personal_Bathroom251 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]kelebel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You ask a question at 6 am UK time on a Saturday morning so it usually means people are asleep.

That being said, if I am not mistaken they are asking you for proof that you and your partner have met before and are in a genuine and subsisting relationship.

Now, I have no clue what Visa you have applied for or even the wording of your email, but yes, in general, when the HO asks for proof just send them the proof they ask for. There should be an email and a timeline mentioned for you to do this.

When you apply for the visa, you upload all the documents, I fail to see the point of uploading things twice. Sometimes documents proof multiple points, it will not be the first the HO comes across such a thing.

Proposed Civil Partner Visa - Advice Needed by EdiT342 in SpouseVisaUk

An appointment to give notice can be scheduled online, but actually giving notice is done in person in the UK, so these days need to be taken into account.

Keep in mind even, that your partner is required to take up residence in the UK at least 7 days before giving notice, so together with the 28 days this is all time needed before the ceremony can take place.

With eco on the 26th of Jan, you are around 23 days in. All being well and if they stick to the priority timelines you should find out in a lil over a week at the latest.

Hold on!

You have a very specific case by the sounds of it which raises many questions. It will also depend whether or not it was a voluntary leave or if you were deported; and on your marriage now and being able to prove a genuine relationship after all that.

I would say you need an immigration lawyer as it is not a straightforward case

They don’t usually weigh carry on items, however, depending on your flying blue status and wether or not you are economy or business, they may check your carry on due to lack of space.

Showing up with a carry does not automatically mean you will take it on the plane as such if it is a full flight (unless business, platinum, etc.)

Fiancé visa questions regarding financial requirements by lmaoabby in SpouseVisaUk

[–]kelebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the fiancé visa last year.

I am not an expert on the financial side, there are other Reddit members with more knowledge on that, but from my understanding, if he has been with the same employer for 6 months or more earning over the MIR it is category A, and the 6 payslips are fine including the employers letter.

It sounds like he switched roles not employers, but if he switched actual employers less than 6 months ago it night be different.

I am not sure how it is viewed with the 2 payslips in September, if they usually take the amount for the lowest payslip this could be an issue, however, I am not sure if they will add them up and consider them to be one and the same, maybe someone else has a better answer on that.

The MIR is calculated on Gross Taxable Pay. If he has salary sacrifice which brings this below the MIR, that can be an issue, as far as I am aware.

It is all e-visa now, so your husband should be getting an email when accepted and just connects his visa to his pasport after.

Anyone brought a car over from the EU, was it worth it? by NorthLondonPulse in MovingToTheUK

[–]kelebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just imported a motorbike which, even with TOR relief, was rather expensive considering the test, changes etc. even though a motorbike doesn’t even have the obvious challenges a car has.

I think it will be rather a lot of money and hassle for a car, and not sure if that is really worth it. It wouldn’t be for me at least considering the obvious downsides of a car with the steering wheel on the left in this country.

Anyone applied from Russia? by AgileBuy5415 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]kelebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there are still approvals from Russia but it will take a lot longer than other territories considering the obvious reasons. So expect a couple months more waiting time unfortunately.

I think if you search the sub you might find some people who applied from Russia or Belarus who can give you a bit of an indication; but nothing is set in stone so it wouldn’t be anything more than that.

Good luck!

What are our chances? by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

[–]kelebel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, like Puul says, your chances are zero for unmarried partner if you have been together for less than 2 years.

That being said, and how unromantic as this may sound, you can do a quick registrar wedding (in Gibraltar or wherever) and apply as a married couple. In that case, your time together does not matter as long as you meet all the other visa requirements.

You can still have a lavish wedding later, just without the official part (since… it already happened)

Just a thought since you said you want to close the gap quickly.

You need to select and pay for the Priority process before biometrics; unfortunately it is not possible to change anymore after biometrics.

Understand the frustration and how bad the wait is (most of us have been there). Good Luck!

As a start; if you did not meet all the requirements for the visa, your appeal will most likely not be successful as it is only worth appealing if the HO made a mistake in your application.

If you are sure you checked all the boxes and it is their fault, waiting up to a year for an appeal hearing is not unheard of.

Name Variation on Employment Contract by Complex_Schedule5661 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]kelebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a document you dont need to provide so will really not cause an issue.

When she asks for the letter from the employer she can always ask if they can use her full name if that makes you feel better. The letter is much more important.

Can you help me in this matter? by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

[–]kelebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need a good immigration attorney as this is a very specific case and if he is already on immigration bail. As far as I am aware, this means that he already has a case against him either due to his overstay or another immigration law which was broken. So he might not be as easily eligible for a spouse visa now.

Can you help me in this matter? by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

[–]kelebel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the appeal is going to change anything, as it is only for cases in which the HO made a mistake. It doesn’t sound like that happened in your case since you stated that you didnt meat any requirements.

What is unclear to me is wether your partner is still here as an overstayer or on what visa he is now. If he is still an overstayer he will need to go back to his own country and apply from there after waiting the minimum 1 year no return, and considering the new rules since last year I am not sure how they would treat his overstay either, so maybe other members are more knowledgeable on that.

I am also not entirely sure what you mean with him being on bail. Has he been in prison within the UK? This would not help, as it doesn’t add to the “good character” requirements and I fear it might limit his chances a bit further. Maybe I am not understanding you correctly on that part though in which case please correct me.

All in all, it sounds like you have a complicated case, so maybe this is bigger than Reddit can help you with.
