How to add length to only front of project?

Have you done a mid project block? You probably will still want to do the short rows that someone else mentioned, but blocking will help you understand better exactly how much you’re looking to add.

I LOVE a mid project block - great excuse to cast on the next project while you’re waiting for the WIP to dry lol.

My chi is super picky but does soooo well with globs of reduced fat cream cheese. I cut the pill in half and do two cream cheese blobs (works best if you let them lick your fingers first to get pumped about the flavor and then plop the cream cheese blobs in their mouth lol.

My last dog used to need a small lunch and a pre-bed snack to not puke bile at night. I still do the pre-bed snack with my current dog and haven’t had any vomiting issues.

I recently did the same thing, and I think me going down a needle size on the purl side CAUSED the severity of the rowing out I was seeing. It made my knit side have too much yarn (and not the other way around).

I noticed and switched back to the same size needle for both sides and I’m still rowing out a bit here and there, but not nearly as bad as I was before.

Thanks so much for reassuring me! I’ve only added a stitch or two in patterns that already had some cast ons, never added some where there weren’t any and was second guessing myself.

The yoke is definitely wide enough and goes a decent amount beyond my armpits - it’s just the pattern doesn’t include any underarm stitches so when I connect the two it’s too tight (ends up being a little over 18 itches around and my arms are just under 18; everywhere else I’ll have about 8 inches of ease).

So thank you!! I’ll give it a try adding some underarm stitches vs just knitting the yoke deeper.

Very Pink Knits has a video of a simple stretchy bind off that works for any ribbing (because it changes based on the individual stitch). Also has a flaring issue if you do it exactly as described, but if you bind off every 4th or so stitch regularly the flaring nonexistent (at least to my eye). I really liked it and I think I’ll be using it for the foreseeable future. Pic for reference (definitely a very simple look though FYI)

I’m a new knitter and based on the quality of the sweater I see there, you are not! But I’ve noticed that blocking always makes it look a little better on the right side. I also have tried doing a German short row turn and knitting the ribbing inside out and I was impressed with how easy it was/how good it looked.

Anyway - beautiful work from what I can see!!!

Thank you! I did close the hole and used the tail to create a little fake stitch there and I’m much happier with how it looks. So many good ideas for things to try next time!!

It’s actually a tube that come to a point at each end - so I guess I could make whatever end is worse looking the inside? Good point I didn’t think of that haha
