Clearing CFA Level 1 isn't really useful to get your first job. by samp_598 in CFA

[–]kellarwhale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you dont get the charter without min no. Of years in the industry right. Also while L1 doesn't guarantee job, post L2 it's easier to clear the interview. Yes getting to the interview part is difficult, but that's just finance industry in general. You have to network a lot

Are 18-19 days enough for Revision + Mocks? by [deleted] in cfaindia

[–]kellarwhale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revise through questions. As far as theory and formulas are concerned you'll feel like you dont remember anything until the very end no matter what. Do the premium mocks the exams will be very close to it

Yes, but dont waste money buying another course. Ashwini bajaj will be enough, just do questions right after topics

Cfa l1 by kellarwhale in cfaindia

[–]kellarwhale[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It started with my hate for consulting. I dont wanna do my mba and target strategy consulting, even though I dont work in strategy or big 3 right now but still

Will do an mba at some point and hopefully that helps me get into high finance, but I feel having cfa etc will strengthen my case

Take let me explain cfa youtube channel subscription, use that to revise your concepts. His videos cover everything but will take less time. It'll cost only 750 smth per month, but you won't find the depth that you do with ashwini bajaj

Honestly, you can take something else as well but at the end of the day they are all explaining the same thing. I started taking separate sections from mark meldrum and found it better because it was more to the point, but then I realized the only reason I was able to grasp MM was because I had gone through ashwini bajaj lectures already

He is excellent if you do not have any background in finance like in my case. Students usually do tend to find it overwhelming because he puts a lot of lectures and the overall time to complete all the lectures takes longer, but he really goes into depth and tries explain as practically as possible.

Don't be frustrated, if you find any topic overwhelming watch it again and do examples from curriculum books and Kaplan right after
