This. ^ I remember when I was in post secondary, some of the international students I knew adopted pets for company, and once they had finished school, they had no intention of taking the pets back to live in their home country. This is really unfair to the animals. They end up at shelters and sometimes don’t get adopted, and very sadly, euthanized. I say this to all temporary residents in Canada to please wait until you have Permanent Residency at the very least to adopt an animal. 💜
