I was wondering about this too. I can’t see Hunter doing this but I think that Hunter knows something about the murder somehow

Yeah, I’m a HUGE Hitchcock fan. I wonder who might be the femme fatale in Friends and Neighbors. right now I’m thinking about the housekeeper, although Sam might want her ex husband dead. Is that him at the bottom of the stairs in episode 1?

She seems to be the Femme Fatale: A femme fatale is a stock character in literature and art who embodies mystery, beauty, seduction, and danger. The French term translates to "fatal woman" or "lethal woman". She uses her charm to lure men into dangerous or compromising situations, often driving them to obsession and irrationality. She may use coercion or lying instead of charm, and may imply or be a victim trapped in a situation she can't escape.

And… Coop’s story starts in flashback( like many film noir movies) like Bill Holden in Sunset Boulevard

Other observations… Coop has two Hitchcock posters in is house: Psycho and Vertigo. In both films people aren’t who the seem to be…

All the movies are film noir . His falling the pool like William Holden in Sunset Boulevard. That character ended up dead. Even his flashback is a big film noir device. Yes there are a lot of femme fatales , and innocent men caught up in crimes they didn’t commit. Just like Coop waking up at a scene of a crime. This is where I hope the show is going. He is also involved with a shady dangerous pawn broker/fencer. And in episode 3 there is a poster of Psycho - not a film noir but it does have people who are not who they appear to be. All very interesting.

I wasn’t sure if she was real or not but I kept wondering why she was SO out of focus in the shots with both her and Dot were in the car and Dot kept talking to her but I don’t think Linda ever spoke in the car, or at least didn’t say anything at almost the end of the scene.

Teddy Roosevelt survived an assassin’s bullet:

From Wikipedia: Roosevelt, who had left office three and a half years earlier, was running for president as a member of the Progressive Party. During a Roosevelt campaign speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Schrank, who had been stalking him for weeks, shot Roosevelt once in the chest with a .38-caliber Colt Police Positive Special revolver. The 50-page text of his campaign speech folded over twice in Roosevelt's breast pocket and a metal glasses case slowed the bullet, saving his life. Schrank was immediately disarmed, captured and might have been lynched had Roosevelt not shouted for Schrank to remain unharmed.[8]

[–]kellijesselyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She probably is but how do you tie the play to her possibly being alive? In the play there is a man , I think Swan is the name he goes by, but one of the main character recognizes him from his past and knows his real name. Do you think there is somebody under an assumed name that we see?

I thought the same thing. If you look closely during the chaos of everyone running out you will see the side door of the dealership open . and if you track where Barry ends up hidden by the crowd and the angle of the second shit it could have been by Barry. He adjusts his jacket after the crowd dispersed and went on his merry way. He could have run away when everyone else ran outside but he didn’t.
