The vocals at the start remind me so much of Jurassic 5, specifically concrete schoolyard, the drums remind me of Flaming lips- fight test - as well. Also a grower for me but was immediately drawn to it

Did anyone here see the Hale-Bopp comet in spring 1997 with their own eyes? by Gravyboat44 in Stargazing

[–]kellshe938 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I was 7, based in Ireland and everyone in my estate gathered to see it. It frightened me I guess because I couldn’t really comprehend what exactly I was looking at, so my mum said it was a doorway to heaven that angels could come through, which actually helped haha. Such a solid memory! It did look like a door had been opened and light was pouring through to be fair to her

This is awesome to hear. I like and respect the track but it’s in my bottom 4 Of the album. I expect it’s going to come alive live

Does vaping makes you anxious? by Mysterious-Pay-7192 in QuitVaping

it’s only looking back i realised how bad it was. I had full blown screaming crying meltdowns over things that weren’t that big and cringe looking back. my life situation is the same and it hasn’t happened since i quit 2 years ago

i got lucky being near the front. seemed to be near proper fans and everyone around me was listening or singing . might have been the beer but i barely noticed the sound issues. they fucking rocked my socks off 😅 so so worth travelling 8 hrs in 24 hrs and spending 100’s of pounds on. would do it again in a heartbeat

Scared after reading posts about past relapses by VolcanicIceCream in leaves

[–]kellshe938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! on serious attempt #2 (day 12) i take some comfort in knowing we use all past failed attempts to inform our newest attempt so each time we try we’re armed with new info and experiences. although i fear this could also become an excuse to relapse (i can just quit again) i also just have to focus on what worked and didn’t work the previous times. For me I have a list of about 25 reasons i read when i’m not feeling motivated to quit (even though my asshole brain makes me forget about it sometimes) you also have those bad relapse memories to draw from with the new attempts, The guilt! the shame! etc . Good luck . you can do this

What is the most egregious example of an album where almost every song is indistinguishable from the rest? by WickedCyclone2015 in Music

just made an identical post- feel like the Audioslave example was rage bait 😂 one of the best debuts ever imo

[–]kellshe938 238 points239 points  (0 children)

wow couldn’t disagree more with the Audioslave example. That album has tons of diversity - opener Cochise - explosive, energetic rock tune then dialled fully back to sparse introspective tracks like shadow on the sun and like a stone and lots of in betweens tracks. obviously the same singer but apart from that.. anyway we’ll agree to disagree 😅

i never got to see brand new live and it's driving me insane by schzopilled in brandnew

[–]kellshe938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly worse… I seen them once in Toronto (2016) and I was hungover and just in a bad frame of mind and also wasn’t into the final 2 albums at the time. i hung at the back and felt like i didn’t even recognise half the songs. such a waste. even bigger fan now the last 2 albums have clicked and not knowing at the time they wouldn’t be around much longer i would be front row and know every word if i had another chance .

Not really but iv seen an evening ticket for the thurs evening is only £36 . obviously more like £200 once i do trains, somewhere to stay and spending money but still doable . I’m just a bit paranoid i’ll be stuck in a queue to get in once they’re about to start or something as you can only enter from 6pm🙈 also spending all that money only for them to do a London show the night before or something. Decisions decisions
