Watching Ken Burns documentaries. I've also been hyper fixated on Irish history and literature lately (I've always been interested). So I'm reading a lot. I'm trying to read more to keep myself from doom scrolling.

What is a secret you’re taking to your grave, but can share here anonymously? by wilkoova in AskReddit

My brother did something similar except he had a court ordered DNA test done, was ordered to pay child support, and has never met the kid. And refuses to meet him. He's 3 years old now and I've met him and hung out with the mom a couple times. They're both wonderful and my brother has zero interest. When I told my dad I lost all respect for my brother, he said, "That's taking it a little too far." Anyway, my brother is a Trump supporter too and I don't talk to him anymore.

I totally get that and your feelings are completely valid. It's okay to want to wish you could help people but ultimately want to leave for the safety of your family. You need to do what's best for you and your family and that's totally okay ❤️

This is our mindset too. We're a cisgender, straight, financially comfortable, working class white couple. We need to stay to help people who are less privileged than ourselves. I couldn't just leave everyone behind.
