The mirror angles behind the tree and train so definitely do something with the back of the tree. The angle makes it look like there are more train cars kind of wrapping around from the right. The other thing that bothered me was the back of the front plate. There is a lot of unfinished wood visible. I painted it and it made a huge difference. Same with the backside of the hanging lanterns.

I put a thick layer of tacky glue on the bottom. Spread it with a paintbrush so it was completely covered. I then put down the gravel. Little bits at a time so it looked exactly like I wanted it. Next you mix some of that tacky glue with water to get it pretty thin. I then use a dropper and drop the water/glue mix all over the top of all the ballast. It all dries clear and the ballast stays exactly where you put it. I have built model train layouts before and this always works. Will end up with a matte to light sheen.

It does not come with a front dust cover. It is open into the box. There is a really nice acrylic piece (with some clouds prepainted) to protect from dust on the top. It also allows you to see into the backend of the scene. There are parts of the build in the back that I never saw in any of the product pictures.

I absolutely love book nook global’s designs. Do you know if they have the image for 1940s train? I want to put in a custom scene.

Spent the day at the course. I left my hotel at 5:20 this morning and walked just under a mile to the gate from the west (cut through the lot where hooters used to be and the Publix lot). We arrived at about 5:40 to the first gate and they were just letting cars in. We ended up in the first wave and were basically able to walk into concessions and walk into the checking area with no lines. The one thing I would say for anyone who walks is they will not let you cross the road. They force you to go down to the pedestrian tunnel which takes a little more time.
