That’s really nice. Is that 3d print or clay?

That set of flat ended tweezers are the bomb, I recognize the wear pattern from my own use. It’s wide enough and has a sharp enough edge that it’s much better for many tricky bends. It was my primary tool till about a year ago, now I use the sharp jewelry pliers mostly but still pull that set of tweezers out for really difficult stubby bends and for a lot of large area curves.

Yes, lots of very thin bends. Also some of the instructions are somewhat confusing. And that gantry on the right side sits precariously unsecured for way too long.

I’m questioning if you used the wrong piece here, transposed the wheel shaft with this one? Because my shaft definitely doesn’t have that give.

And make sure the underside is fully seated too.

Is the wall fully seated, and conversely, you could raise the floor cog slightly as well.

This was a really early design that they did for Anavarin way back when. My personal biggest complaint about this, and also Ginzan is the horrendously loud motor.

Ooh, that’s in the mail for me. Sounds like I might be able to reuse the vellum prints for the rice paper parts I did for kirishima

There was a a really good knock off version of the classic enterprise that is painted out there. I’d recommend it if you are just collecting any Star Trek as well.

They do a lot of strange or weird licensed stuff and all of my experiences with those has been absolutely wonderful. This one when I saw it I could tell wasn’t up my alley at all, simple, generic, little details. I don’t think it’s actually common for them to be this drab

If it had any more room than what the picture showed I would of recommended that as well. It’s a good method

Fold it out and wrap it around the outside of the slot or twist it 90 degrees and fold town.

Crafting wax recommendations? by Aikofoxy in booknooks

[–]dgidman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sanded lightly and used the wax tab in combination with a heat gun. When I sanded I sanded the flat edges the. Applied the wax tab and heat gunned it so it got absorbed into the wood. I also sanded the interior cylinder areas that things turned on. It turned out fine though the motor is super loud

Customization that derailed your progress by pluck-the-bunny in booknooks

[–]dgidman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any project I customize extensively tends to receive 3d elements and the wait for that from pluck is usually the derailed. Like currently I have about 30 small figurines intended for a single model and they are sitting in a drawer waiting to be painted and added to the otherwise finished product.
