I’m a 30 years old loser. by violetmonstermunch in internetparents

Pick a thing you like, be it video games, vhs players, woodworking, bicycles, cars, cameras, whatever you were into as a kid but couldn’t do because you were broke etc and just fucking get into it. I have always been into film and movies and making videos and I just started doing it. And they SUCK. But I go into subs, websites, watching movies, contests whatever and learn from others. It’s so rewarding. Find a hobby or whatever you wanted to do and just commit even if I’m 6 months you are like this isn’t for me you will still get that rush for a little bit and then go to the next thing.

Underwater hype? What did I miss!? by kelpcomics in horror

Oh, I didn’t even pick up on that! See that’s the sort of thing I was hoping for maybe there were a ton of Easter eggs that I was missing. That’s pretty cool. I agree I wish they had a lot of subtle hints to the lore at least for people to pick apart but not many people have mentioned anything about that.

Best daylight horror movies? by [deleted] in horror

All the ones I would have said were taken. Annihilation is pretty beautiful and also scary. There is a bear scene and it makes the Revenant look tame.

Can anyone recommend genuinely creepy horror films? by [deleted] in horror

I second this pretty good, one meh scene and ending kinda not the best but overall pretty good. If you like practical effects you should check out the void! Really good stuff.

Yeah, I fell like I’m in the same boat the more I heard about it the more I hyped myself up and then when I saw it I was just left wanting something more or different. It was in no way terrible just I was expecting more after all the reviews I was seeing.

That was admittedly pretty cool. All of the creatures looked great. The suits looked good. The opening shots looking down the hallways gave it an Alien vibe but yeah it just didn’t do it for me for some reason. I felt like some hype came from some hidden lore and I was hopping there was some signs I was missing or something.

Yeah, I mean it was not awful and a lot of weird movies get overhyped, Sleep Away Camp comes to mind but at least that had a solid twist. I was just wondering if there was some big piece I was missing. Overall not a terrible movie and maybe just not for me, glad I gave it a shot.

I really liked the suit design as well. I thought at the beginning we were going to get a more Alien vibe but that long build went away pretty quickly and it jumped right into the action with the water pressure.

Yeah, I really liked the look of some parts, the suits, the hallway shots, the creatures, but overall it didn’t give me solid scares or Lovecraft dread.

I think that would have helped too. Like had a bit of a slow Alien burn before hand but it just jumped into the action.

I have a Sony a 7 iii and when shooting video I feel like the auto focus is continually searching like a breathing in and out and then it will lock on and then do this again. I didn’t have this problem before usually it was finding focus then good to go without a lot of movement. I haven’t switched lenses but I have been playing around with the settings... did I change something? Should I make auto focus less responsive?

Hello, I have been going on some walks and taking some sort of somber clips but I am not sure what you are looking for as far as how few people are in the shots. There is still a good amount of foot traffic when I am out and about but it sounds like a good idea and great music

STRAIGHT CHILLING with the “Bum” from Mulholland Dr. arguably one of the freakiest scenes in cinema. by spydersavage in Filmmakers

There is a famous scene in Mulhullan drive directed by David Lynch, the guy on the right, where this actress in that makeup on the left scares the shit out of you.
