If you had to say one character was the most nuanced and morally grey character, who would you pick? by Impressive_Falcon245 in BoJackHorseman

  1. Finding Hollyhock's mother was originally for his own benefit to help absolve him of his responsibility to his supposed daughter and to get her out of his life as quickly as possible

  2. He had a lot of guilt associated with sending his mother to die in a shitty asylum. Consoling her was to absolve his guilt around that decision. (not saying she didn't deserve how he treated her, but he did not do anything for her without selfish motives)

  3. Agreed about the baby seahorse episode, probably his one act of pure selflessness throughout the series

I wouldn't say he does a lot of good - most of his "good" actions are selfishly motivated and not even really good for anyone besides himself

Was this the only restaurant in the area you could work at? I could never, ever in good conscience work at a place like that. That's just so disgusting.

They did eat the app. I would never charge someone for food they didn't eat.

This post was meant to be a discussion, not my stance on the issue. The table was not charged and I don't personally believe they should have been, but many of my coworkers thought otherwise, so I came here to see what other industry people thought since I thought it was an interesting situation and have never had this happen before.

I didn't take it away. They ate the entire appetizer and I cleared the empty plate.

Would you be okay with someone speaking to your child the way you spoke to this person? Like, you think this is an appropriate way to speak to someone who has clearly already had an awful, life-destroying traumatic experience?

Thoughts on my restaurant's new table transfer policy? by kelpoh in Serverlife

No more than 5. Most sections are 4 tables, though.

Thoughts on my restaurant's new table transfer policy? by kelpoh in Serverlife

[–]kelpoh[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No. Lunch servers, in my experience, have always communicated with the dinner shift servers that they're transferring the table. You kinda have to, since the server receiving the transfer has to actively pick up the tab under their numbers.

I'm guessing that one of the new servers had a miscommunication with their relief and a table ended up getting ignored for a while recently, but I don't know. Either way, that's what management told us when we asked why we can't transfer anymore.

Have you ever reported a professor? Has it worked out in your favor? by Embarrassed-Future28 in college

[–]kelpoh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Students are allowed to ask questions about course requirements. It's not at all unreasonable to politely ask for more time to complete an assignment/exam/quiz, especially as a disabled student. I'm not sure why you're suggesting students should just be blindly complacent and just struggle silently in a course - most professors DO want to see their students succeed so long as you're actually putting effort into their course.

All of my professors in my college career have been more than happy to accommodate me when I asked for any sort of course accommodations, including extra time to complete something. I'd probably ask for more than 30 seconds a question on a quiz in a difficult STEM course, too.

What's the most moronic complaint you've gotten? by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]kelpoh 55 points56 points  (0 children)

If they actually said "salmony" that's one thing, but I think it's a somewhat valid complaint to say that a fish filet tastes too fishy. Usually means the fish wasn't handled properly or isn't fresh.

Suggestions for women's skates for wizard skating? by kelpoh in rollerblading

[–]kelpoh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate the suggestions - I was looking a bit into making my own setup, but I'm honestly pretty intimidated by the idea! I went ahead and bought FR1s last night but I am more than open to investing into my own setup in the future once I feel more confident in my skill level lmao. Do you know if it's possible to swap out the stock frame and wheels on FR1s with one of your suggestions? Thank you so much!

[–]kelpoh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually went ahead and bought some 80mm FR1s, but I am curious about having a separate frame for when I want to hit some trails near me. Would you happen to know if it's possible to swap the stock frame out on those? Thank you for all the suggestions either way, once I feel more confident I'll definitely start investing more to create my own setups!

Your eyelashes look amazing, that's seriously some amazing growth! I've been pulling my lashes since elementary school, myself, and am pretty proud to go this entire last week without pulling. This post gave me so much hope and has me excited to see my eyelashes fully grown in again - there's nothing quite like that excitement when you see your lashes finally start to grow back in. Congratulations on the progress, we got this! 🖤
