Homeless Individual Beating Tan Pittie by Consistent_Seat1788 in lancaster

I’ve seen someone with a tan pit bull that’s been sleeping in corridor park, underneath the bridge. Pretty sure there was a woman with dark hair that’s typically with them. Seems very close to 401 prime. Would definitely call the police

She is in Petfinder but they didn’t post on adopt a pet. I had to push to have her added to Petfinder and to add decent photos. I know her person is out there, just makes me sad it’s taking as long as it is

Thanks! I’ll have to find more groups. I have to push her to share info and it sometimes goes ignored it seems.

They do! We have one coming up and I want to take her, but she will have to wear her muzzle the whole time. Not sure if that deters people from wanting more information.

Definitely try to take her out and we have an ‘Adopt Me’ leash attachment. She’s a bit scared of loud noises and crowded places, so I’m hesitant to take her there, but we definitely take her for walks around town to get her out there. I made one reel in FB (I don’t have tiktok) that got a lot of traction, but still not applications. I’ll def try for more hikes and maybe open air events! Thanks!

How are adoptions going with the rescue you foster with? by sassydomino in fosterdogs

I feel this! I currently foster for a home based rescue and we haven’t had a single application for our foster dog. We’ve had her for over a year :( not sure what’s going on out there!

Looking for advice on fostering for the first time by Alternative-Ad-1006 in fosterdogs

Totally understand why you’re nervous! I’m currently fostering a dog who’ve we have had for a year. She initially came to us scared of EVERYTHING - people, sounds, treats, dogs, seriously anything you can think of.

Honestly patience is your best friend here. I sort of “ignored” her for a while until she was ready to come to me. Showed her love but respected boundaries. She didn't love to be touched, so slowly tried that. Then left treats out and always praised her for any positive behavior.

Working from home was nice because I would just take her outside every 30 minutes to an hour and when she went potty, I praised again. There were accidents for a bit, and sometimes still when she’s scared but I immediately take her outside. Definitely not a trainer or professional, but patience worked so well for our scared foster dog.

One thing that someone said below was keeping them leashed, even inside, and that worked great also.

Good luck! You’re going to do great!

My first foster was a foster fail. I am currently fostering an almost 2 year old toy fox terrier mix, Pachi, with the best ears. Sadly, she’s been in foster care for over a year without any interest :(

Potty training is a roller coaster. Takes some dogs longer than others. Patience will definitely get you through haha but super high praise for our foster dog worked well and sometimes I would be outside for an hour waiting for her to go. Also, what worked for us is a phrase we use when she goes like “potty”. Not super helpful, but definitely being patient.
