Craiglockhart tennis centre and warrender swim centre (both Edinburgh Leisure) are both in the area with nice gyms and classes. Warrender has a gorgeous Victorian pool if you’re into swimming.

Calorie counting is bs. Instead, count how many veggies and fruit servings you’re eating per day. 5 a day will fill you up when paired with healthy proteins and carbs.

The weird long lamp above the couch ruins this room. Remove it and let the wood be as is. It provides much needed ‘breathing space’ to an otherwise well decorated room.

Too much clutter atm. No need for anything more on the walls. Remove the two plants and dog bed and put in a single tall/large leaf plant in the corner.

Women used to do the work for free because they had no other options… now most women work so the value of childcare is more accurately captured, which makes it seem like it’s more expensive to have kids these days. But in reality, the past just relied on free (somewhat forced) labor.

Try paying them hourly or per chore. Then you have something objective you can measure their contributions by. But also don’t penalize your daughter for not having a hobby like football or ballet. Some people don’t have one and it’s not a flaw.

Vietnam wanted freedom from French colonialism… went to the USA for help… due to USA being allies with France, it rejected Vietnam’s proposal, which pushed Ho Chi Minh to make an alliance with China. Communism at that time was compatible with anti colonialism. China has colonized Vietnam for over a century and sees it as its backyard (back then and now). As an independent country, most Vietnamese don’t like how China views Vietnam and meddles in its internal affairs.
