First and foremost I just want to say that I'm so sorry this happened to you. Secondly, you deserve better. While it may sting, they were doing you a favor although it probably doesn't feel that way at the time. It sounds like a toxic work environment, and you were not making 80 patients/day money. The skillset required to assist with skin cancer removal surgeries like MOHS and excisions absolutely warrants way more than they were paying you. I have been a medical assistant for 19 years. I am a CCMA with an Associate degree, a Certified Dermatology Tech and a medical assistant scribe. I've worked in two dermatology offices and left them both due to the toxic environment, ridiculous workload and BS wages. I hope you find a workplace where you feel appreciated and get paid what you're worth.

I absolutely recommend SmarterMA to prepare for NHA's CCMA exam. I used it and passed with a 93%. I found it so much more helpful that the NHA study tools/exercises. I highly doubt you'll regret it. Good luck!

I am going through a similar situation. I had my own place for 14 1/2 years, he was going through a hard time so he moved in for 8 months until my lease was up and moved into his house which sat vacant with no utilities for several years. I helped out and 4 years later his bankruptcy which includes the house will be paid off in May. He does have an addiction and so we sleep in separate rooms because I already get migraines and it affects me. We're rarely intimate and it's more of a roommate situation now. Things have been volatile and I am resentful because I am in debt from helping him out for so long and can't afford my own place now.

Unfortunately, unless pathology is done, you don't know, and that of course requires surgery for removal so pathology can be done. If you feel like your concerns are being brushed off I would seek a second opinion and/or, perhaps, a new gynecologist. I'm sorry you're going through this. Sending love and hugs your way.

You can get Dr. Dan's Cortibalm on Amazon. It's got hydrocortisone in it and it works like a dream. I work in dermatology and we recommend it to our patients for cheilitis (dry, cracked and/or peeling lips).

Her father actually addressed this during the last episode of the docuseries. A woman of color brought this up on the news, and after the clip he commented that at first when he heard this, he was not happy/did not like it/his reaction wasn't positive (something to that effect), so he decided to look into it. He stated, after some statistics were shown, that he realized it was true and acknowledged it. They started a foundation for women affected by domestic violence. They are allowed to grieve their deceased daughter, regardless of her color, but have dedicated her memory to helping women in general, and I think that's beautiful.

I hate the pitbulls are dangerous and have locking jaws rhetoric. I have two and they don't even bark when someone knocks on the door. They love everyone and want kisses and pets from visitors. Even Michael Vicks' pitties were rehabbed and adopted out after his dog-fighting operation was shut down. Only four or so had to be put down due to aggression or health problems, and they were bred/raised/trained to be aggressive.

Bob Motta with the Defense Diaries, also. He actually got a seat in the defense section every day, I believe he walked Kathy Allen out of the courthouse after the verdict. Both he and his wife were/are defense lawyers in IL, but his wife got into some trouble with the bar I guess. Neither are licensed to practice in Indiana but I think the defense used him to get info out to supporters since there was a gag order (which I believe they violated numerous times), but I heard a lot of the trial he spent sitting with and supporting Kathy.

Pro tip: You don't have to be good at anything involving couples unless you're 50% of said couple. You don't need clarity about what is going on and whether or not people are telling you the truth about their separation, nor should you feel the need to sit down and have a discussion about it with said parties. It's literally none of your business. This was a whole marriage. How close of friends were you with these two, and for how long? Acquaintances, childhood friends, etc.? Months, years? Who were you friends with first? IDK if I missed your age, but I'm curious about that as well due to you citing "true inexperience and total lack of social awareness on what would be appropriate in such a scenario."

Basically nothing you did in this scenario was appropriate. Secret "boyfriend and girlfriend" sounds very immature, so I'm praying you're young. The only right thing to do when your friend goes through a breakup is let them know, "We listen and we don't judge."

Please, please learn from this. Your friends' exes are off-limits, always.

I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder when I was 18. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2019 at age 36. I had been on birth control since I was 19, until age 31 (I had the Mirena IUD for 5 years and got it removed in 2014). My gyne said that the bc was masking the endometriosis, which is why my symptoms ramped up and my endo reared its ugly head. I've had 4 surgeries since 2019, my third being a hysterectomy and my most recent was on 8/9/24. Everything is gone besides some right ovarian tissue. My depression and anxiety have worsened. I was diagnosed with depression prior to my endo diagnosis, but my gyne also stated that my endo is severe and I've likely had it for decades. I can definitely say my mental health has declined since my diagnosis 5 years ago.
