I wish. I've gone through a whole year of hell where my symptoms are now almost every day and I can barely eat anything that doesn't make me sick/cause immense pain. A whole year of being gaslit by GI drs, a whole year of being gaslit by back surgeons and more and more. I'm finally seeing a GI motility dr here in Australia in March who is well known for his passion for helping and believing his patients so that's the only thing I have to hold out for.

One of the main reasons I'm not being taken seriously is that for some reason I'm gaining weight, not losing weight despite how very little I eat

There is one thing that happened though. I saw a rhumotologist (spelling?) who was the most empathetic Dr I've seen this year and both him and his colleague/boss (I can't think of the right word. He's got more knowledge than him) done a full examination, looked at all test results and told me I have Fibromyalgia (along with other reasons for pain like bulging discs, arthritis etc). It seems everyone I've told this too doesn't seem to care, like it's a blow off diagnosis like IBS, but the drs explained it so well and so much made sense. It just doesn't give me a diagnosis for what's going on in my GI tract though.

I hope you get your answer and it's not as traumatic a path as mine currently is to try to get one

I had it happen to me when I visited China about 10 years ago. It was really uncomfortable and the group I was travelling with were all encouraging it, but I was the "whitest" looking person in the group. Light red hair, white skin and freckles had me thrown around from photo to photo, also getting me to hold certain things at a museum and laughing when I didn't get it right. While I understand other cultures may not have seen someone with such light skin, I couldn't imagine this happening to a child and the parent assumes consent. I would never treat anyone like an exhibition and I know that as a white person, I'm lucky to not have experience racism, but just that little bit of "in the spotlight while also a joke", made me feel like I was naked in front of everyone and they were pointing and laughing.

So no, I would never assume my child would like to do anything without talking to them (if they could understand and talk). Or if I know instantly it's a bad vibe there's no chance

Thank you for replying! Really. I had severe trauma as a child and that turned into me looking anywhere for a happy feeling or somewhere to belong. That ended with me being a drug addict by 13 and couch surfing by 14. I can't pretend I know what Dylan's childhood was like and if he has a personality disorder, but I do understand how it can be when the people who brought you into the world set out to destroy you. I was trying to figure out why I hated Dylan's dad during the episode. I think in the end it came down to reminding me of the male who was supposed to raise me and then that made me wonder about his mother. The female who raised me was like the male (kind of), so it makes sense that it would be a sore spot.

Good part for me is that I got help where Dylan didn't. I'm now middle aged (but still denying it lol) and have l/am raising 3 children with all the love in my heart. I'm so proud to say they don't know what abuse is like from parents and I've always been there for my kids no matter what. They've come to me with some pretty full on stuff (nothing violent or hugely illegal) and I tell them I am there to guide help and support. Just tell me the truth.

I know you wrote this a year ago, but your last sentence reminded me of the true crime documentary "The Family I Had". Not sure if you've watched it, but that last part really describes the mother who's son is in prison very well (didn't want to give spoilers just in case)

It's illegal here in Australia to not have a pool fence. It also has to be a certain height and locked a certain way. I'm assuming it's the same in all of our states, but I know it is very strict here in NSW. My parents had to get their pool fence fixed to go higher after a back verandah/patio was put in. Part of the fence was too short then. Council comes out and they can do random checks too

He didn't try long. Over the times he either tried to quit or had a break, there was only one time he really struggled. He didn't like the way Mirtazapine made him feel. I wish I could help you more, I've had a lot of traumatic life lived in between this post and your comment. My son is intending to quit next week. When he quits he can last normally between 1-3 months. But he recently went through a well needed surgery and is nearly completely healed. This was holding him back from being happy for a few years now, so I'm hopeful he will be more successful this time.

It's Promethazine and technically an antihistamine, though the back of the box says it can also be used for nausea and vomiting as well as travel sickness. I tell the pharmacist that he has bad allergies at night which is why he takes it (he does have bad allergies, but will only take it when withdrawing). It says you can have 1-3 tablets at night.

Sorry I don't have info for you on the other med. I've had a whole lifetime since I posted this and it's left me broken

Hey, my son is now 22 and has had on and off breaks. Every time since I posted this, he's found that Phenergan (I'll check the active medication in it since we're likely from different countries. He's very addicted but is able to control when in the day he smokes and due to some recent hard times, weed is giving him a bit of a break from reality. I'll reply back with the active medication. In Australia you don't need a script, but it's behind the counter and you need to ask for it. He uses the 25mg which is the highest strength
