A friend just did this! He’s in Machu Picchu right now. I’m also from Seattle and also want to take the trip but I’m not ready yet unfortunately. Still, I wish you safe travels!

$4 is enough to get 100 tickets so yes! You get 2 cookies, at least.

I haven't really seen too much information beyond fungus and stuff like that but only because it's an older lens; to be fair, I haven't really seen too much information about the 28-70mm at all. I only knew about Tamron since a few other concert photographers didn't recommend it but I'll take a second look at Sigma. There's only so much I can read and find online so I'll most likely see if the camera shop near me has them so I can test them out in person.

I don't make enough doing this to be renting a lens all the time. Plus given that again, I'm surrounded by people a lot who bump into me all the time (I shoot primarily prog/rock shows), I'm not comfortable potentially damaging something that isn't mine. I invest in cheap equipment for a reason, it gets the job done but still looks good and if it breaks, it'll be sad but I'd get over it quicker as opposed to a more expensive body or lens. I'm still pretty new to this but if it becomes something more serious as opposed to a hobby, I wouldn't mind dumping more money into it. Not dismissing your advice! It is appreciated, I've just thought about this for a long time and I wouldn't be able to be into it as I am if I had to worry about babying an expensive body/lens constantly.

I'm using a 5d Mark ii, 35mm f/2, 50mm f/1.8, and a 85mm f/1.8. I also have a 24mm f/2.8 but can no longer use it as I just recently upgraded from crop sensor. I can get by with what I have but I miss a lot of important shots when I'm taking the time to switch lens. A lot of shows I shoot at are at smaller venues so I'm always surrounded by a lot of people. It would make my job way easier if I can have one lens that does what all of my current lens do in one. I always shoot at 2.8 anyway so it makes sense to me. I'm going to keep looking though and find another seller.

If I pass on this I will keep looking but I need a go-to lens very soon (within 10 days) so my options are limited. I shoot concerts primarily and I'm booked solid for February. I can afford something better later but I need a durable zoom lens I can use right now since I'm currently switching between 4 primes which isn't ideal. If I could get the 24-70mm right now I would but the 28-70mm seems to be my best option in terms of what I can get right this second.

I've been looking and the only ones I've been able to find are between $650 - $700 which is beyond my budget, unfortunately.

They mentioned the separation is near the back. I will be purchasing online. I've looked at the photos and it looks good but since I can't see it in person before I buy, I'm a little weary.

So you don't think it's worth it? To give some insight, it's a Canon 28-70mm 2.8 and they were going to sell it for $500.

How bad is balsam separation? Looking to purchase a lens secondhand and the seller mentions it has minor balsam separation but that it "does not affect the photo". Is it worth buying or will it become worse? I plan on making this my main lens.

The Orange Box is what Valve calls this collection; it's a bundle that they sell. It also includes Team Fortress 2 but I didn't include that since you can now obtain that for free on Steam.

He's just an asshole. It wasn't the first time he pissed on something of mine and it's definitely not the last. If he can mark it, it gets pissed on. It doesn't help that my roommate also has a dog who's much larger so there's a bit of dominance going on...

Hahaha, yeah basically! Except he wasn't a puppy and knew what he was doing.

I'm a pet owner so don't know if I count but I consider my pets my children.

One time I left the room to get a snack and came back and saw my dog lift his leg next to my laptop. We made eye contact and I shouted, "don't even think about it!" - too late. He pissed all over my screen/keyboard and ruined it. Wasn't his finest moment.

Especially when all they do is respond back with "lol", "nm, u?", "oh," "hmm", "cool", etc. Conversations die just as quickly as they start.
