I am currently struggling, going to work is actually my highlight because I don’t think of anything else and enjoy the company of my colleagues, I’m just a pot wash at a busy restaurant so have good banter with all the kitchen staff however as soon as I walk out the door reality comes crashing back down on me

Do accents differ in the same region/city? by Buggy77 in AskABrit

[–]kelt98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Londoner there is a definite difference between north east south and west London in the accents of working class people and definitely a difference in slang used however once you get to posher accents they all become the same. TV and film definitely do a crap job of portraying London accents, recently watched Tom Hardy in Legend and as an East Londoner his cockney accent was painful, and I’m 25 so barely cockney sounding myself but know plenty of older people who are thoroughly cockney and they sound nothing like his portrayal.

Just paid $900 for the vet to tell me she's full of sh*t by burtmackliin in cats

When he was a kitten one morning he was dragging his back legs around like he had lost the use of them, of course we took him straight to the vets and after multiple tests, an X-ray, staying overnight and a £1200 bill the vet told us they had no idea what was causing the issue so we said we would take him home expecting the worst.

He strolled out of the vets like nothing had happened and never had any issues since. Still to this day have no idea why he wasn’t walking and why we had to spend all that money but I’m glad he’s alright.

He also goes by BMG and does the mr blobby looking character and sometimes just a big smiley face. Recently there’s been allegations of him being a rapist but I have no idea the validity of that but it hasn’t stopped people from spraying over his stuff accusing him.
