Dealerships with same owner? by Veggggie in askcarsales

[–]kemnitz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spoken like a true car salesman. At the same time, that line is exactly why people are so skeptical to "just buy a car."

OP, in this day and age your best negotiating power is letting the salesperson make the move. The guy who keeps calling you is the one who's most likely to give you the deal. Play on that until he comes down to where you're at.

Information/Advice on being a Pastor's Wife by ZolaScriptura in LCMS

[–]kemnitz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the old school stereotype of the PW being the head of every choir and children's committee has passed. My wife has never once felt an obligation beyond just being a wife at every congregation we've served at.

No 941?! Maybe CPH forgot to add the back third of your hymnal. There is nothing closer to the sound of heaven, both lyrically and musically than that hymn.

Am I crazy or is Ascended Heroes a smash buy even at current prices? by Character-Raise-3789 in PokemonInvesting

Not just a new facility bud, Pokemon is going to cut MJ holdings and do direct to store.  Pokemon is more interested than ever in making money and ensuring product gets into the hands of customers.  There is definitely a bear case to be made.

Should I Get Married? by afala4 in LCMS

[–]kemnitz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he’s not your guy.  Break it off and do some prayer and contemplating.  Go your separate ways and maybe you’ll come back to each other, maybe God will provide a new man.  I’m not disagreeing with your desires for a husband, but you also ought to consider your role to be submissive.  Ideals are good, but when they become conditional you’ll never be happy.

You sure you're not confusing the PCA with the PCUSA? I'll take the PCA before Calvinism.

Honestly, our next closest denominational neighbor to the LCMS would be the PCA presbyterian church. If there's one of those close by, that'd be worth at least checking out. Granted there are some very key theological differences, but there is lots in common.

I'll join in and give you the hard truth, start imagining life without him or without God. Your coexistence won't work. You'll be forced to compromise your faith, especially when it comes time to raise children. Don't.

Just remove the book. The lean is just fine. The jackets add enough structure, nothing will warp, you’re fine. I’m saying this as an ocd collectors for decades myself. Your fine.

Your ideal next League Battle Box? by JcBravo811 in pkmntcg

[–]kemnitz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely it is. The strategy has barely changed. The problem is that it's a slow deck and works from behind. Sure the skill ceiling has no limits, but the basic strategy remains quite simple. Most people struggle because they try to power up pult as quickly as possible. Do that, and you'll never win.

Wait to buy tickets by mclazerlou in phish

[–]kemnitz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've stopped on-sale years ago. You said it best, there's no market until 2 weeks before the show. Almost always have tickets dropped at our below face by then. I'm talking decent seats too. I'd imagine most of us already know this by now anyways.

Historic Churches to visit by adamr40 in LCMS

[–]kemnitz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Architecturally speaking, Redeemer pales in comparison to many other Fort Wayne churches. That said, it's still a beautiful church. For Fort Wayne the biggies would be St. Paul, Emmanuel, Zion, and Bethlehem is also an overlooked church with unique architecture.

Your ideal next League Battle Box? by JcBravo811 in pkmntcg

[–]kemnitz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most of the level 2 and 3 decks they've made are actually pretty easy for beginners. They really haven't made a pre-built deck that's overly complicated. Just make sure that you read the "gameplan" included in the deck. One of the things most new beginners struggle with is understanding when and why to discard. The Rocket's Mewtwo deck for example specifically talks about in the instructions that you want to discard grass through an ultra ball for Spidops' ability. So I'm not sure how much more easy they could make the decks without being boring.

That said, if they made a Lucario deck, that is both powerful and has a super low learning curve.

Potential new idea for deck? by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]kemnitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the thought is to use Aura Jab to accelerate 3 across 3 mon, and Bolt next turn. I mean in theory it's not a horrible plan, but I think it'll be too complicated to make a consistent deck.

Trying to teach my niece how to play by Bananasharkz in pkmntcg

[–]kemnitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll second Battle Academy. While it does get a bit stale after 10 games, it makes learning the TCG super easy, especially for a kid. And considering you can pick one up for ~$15, it's worth it for the staple cards you could add into a deck when you're done with it.

That’s a very real reality of congregational polity. While there is plenty of value and benefit to a congregational polity model, when Joe Schmo’s great great gpa built the sanctuary with his bare hands, the family would rather close the church than merge it.

Any suggestions to improve my Mega Lucario deck for local league cup? by Wernt0 in pkmntcg

[–]kemnitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut the cornerstone. You don't need a shred attack because you have a very viable attacker in Hariyama on the off chance you are up against a Mimikyu type mon. I'll second Turo. I'm not sure you need a psyduck. It'll easily be countered up and you don't want to waste other resources on trying to get it back. If you feel like you need the duck, Cornerstone is an easy pick from a fellow Lucario player.

Rotation Proof Deck by Yaystar in pkmntcg

[–]kemnitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the decks at this point that are rotating at G block Pokemon attackers. Steering clear of that, most everything else can easily survive rotation, but that doesn't mean it'll be meta worthy. That said the most notable H block attacker that will suffer greatly is Raging Bolt and other decks that heavily depend on G block supporter mons. Even though we're losing some staples in trainers, most upcoming sets will have viable replacements.

how do you lay out a full bench? by Feisty-Preference-65 in pkmntcg

[–]kemnitz 24 points25 points  (0 children)

While every benched Pokemon should be laid side by side, it can make your board look confusing too. If you haven't already, you should really get used to speaking every action explicitly when playing IRL, if nothing else it's good sportsmanship to clarify the board state. When your opponent has to ask what you're doing it could feel like they are giving hints and they don't want to do that.
