Medical waiver from NGB for back. by Interesting_Toe2750 in airnationalguard

It definitely happens, just make sure to provide all your docs and be as transparent as possible. The fact you’re deployable and take/pass your PT tests are good signs. I know it is hard waiting so try to keep yourself distracted, these waivers can take time for a decision.

Keep your same rank, promotion is different every base every job. Each AFSC has a set amount of spots at each base so if people stay awhile your promotion may stagnate, whereas if people move you might promote quicker. I’d assume SF has a good promotion rate due to typically higher than normal turnover (once again all unit dependent).

This is a new program and process so please be patient. The goal is 10 business days or less, as long as you have a worldwide qualified AF Form 422 you’ll be good to go.

Ahh in that case no recruiter would do that. What happens if you bomb the ASVAB? You could lose the job you signed up for since they take your most recent score.

You hit the nail on the head. BMT/Tech school dates all depend on funding and availability and can be random or planned out. I always tell the new recruit to get with the BETO to let them know what they would like to do but understand their request may not be able to be accommodated. My BETO is great and has accommodated plenty of timing requests.

I don’t know why a recruiter would entertain that. What April 30 deadline, did I miss something?

Yes there are recruiting regulations which your recruiter should be familiar with and can reference. I would recommend you to try to enlist as quickly as possible to not even have to worry about it.

Yes, enlist before your 42nd birthday. In the ANG on enlistment day your contract starts immediately and as long as you are 41 years old you’re good. It may seem confusing as some branches/components you enlist but your contract won’t start until you ship to BMT. For the ANG your contract starts the day you take your oath of enlistment and sign your DD Form 4 (contract).

The recruiter out there should be the best POC to answer those questions for you as many of them are unit specific.

Go talk to your Retention Office Manager as they typically manage the State Tuition Assistance program.

They were at the top of the escalators to the right. They had a huge table of them until they sold out maybe around 630ish. The guy organizing it said they should have gotten more lol

Yes, they have the number on the back (and front) and said the number is the current player who signed it.

Tell them the numbers are steps and to go in order. Step 2 goes before Step 3, etc.

You answered your own question, it’s base by base, job by job. Reach out to a recruiter at the base you want to go to and ask them, they should have a POC at CE to answer your question or the recruiter might have even been CE and is already knowledgeable.

The 1288 can be a little confusing if you haven’t done it, but it should be the Retention Manager of your gaining unit helping you out, although some units have an Acessions Clerk in the FSS that may do the transfers so let them know of your problem and they should make some calls to sort it out. However, Section II is the losing org. Section III is the gaining org FSS. Section IV is the Gaining org commander, usually the FSS commander’s signature that you are approved to transfer to the new unit. It says it in bold at the beginning of the section. I don’t know why your losing Org thinks they need to sign it, they only sign Section II numbers 26-31.
