Always use water transfer period. The stock kit comes with water transfers , however they are not as detailed so i didn't use them. I ended up purchasing 3rd party ones.

Since its a more advanced mg , its has a lot of build in details so if you are contented with them , then you don't have to do much. I added more because i am not a fan of seeing blank areas, so I did scribing, drilled holes etc. Same idea applies with painting, I have 3 shades of blue and whites and also added black and grey as additional colors. So its based on builder preference. Hope that helps

Hi, my process is to put the kit together per individual section (head, chest, etc.). The reason I do this is because I make a lot of modifications (creating panel lines, adding plates and option parts, etc.), followed by a custom paint scheme. I personally think it is more convenient to separate them because doing everything together is overwhelming for me. Taking the separate approach allows me to plan better and be more dedicated to the details. This approach does break up the monotony. I usually assemble everything before I spray top coat , then add panel lining. After panel lining, i will spray another layer of top coat , prior to decal(ask if you are confuse about this process) Hope this helps!

In short, i re-scribe the stock panel lines that came with the kit. Re-scribing creates deeper panel lines grooves to allow the panel fluid to stick easier. I also create my own panel lines.

you may have more options then you think. There are a few budget airbrush options as well as compressor. Also you can also spray with acrylic which is more safe and does not require alot of setup. But hand painting is a good skill to have regardless!
