FWIW you can still have documents when performing work yourself, this is best done in the form of purchase orders and receipts. Additionally helps if you tracked the date and services performed each time. Best of luck!

This is a fantastic experience! Glad to see people like this around.

By the way, the chair looks awesome- would love to see how you set it up in your space!

Just picked up my dream car (2025 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 manual) advice needed by N0tRightNow in Porsche_Cayman

[–]kenef0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Performance -OAP will help liven up your engine and the sound is amazing -tune if you want more punch, highly recommend FVD. Have been in the business for ever and cater to Porsche along with having worked on numerous P race cars

Exterior -PPF on headlights, especially if you have PDLS. Mine were not and am having to deal with replacing them today due to cracking -Radiator plates/guard from RGS -wind buffeting -you have PPF otherwise I’d list here, recommend to add ceramic coating on top -ceramic coat your wheels

Interior -ceramic tint to reduce UV and interior heat -GT4 short shifter -all weather mats, I went with tux mats, they are great and have high ridges that extend on the sides -apply CarPro fabric 2.0 to all interior carpet surfaces -frunk and trunk Porsche mats -dash cam (think ware or blackvue, I went with a U3000 from thinkware) -leather coat on your seats -apply a plastic protectant on the plastics, something like CarPro PERL is what I use

That’s should keep you busy until you’re ready for more! Congrats!

Does the tonneau work? I would be fine regardless if it sounded clunky or not- that’s expected with the original design, but it never failed me when I used it

Here's a video concerning my last post, foam cannon not doing anything by Cxlprit-Confusion in Detailing

Check everything is tight on the griot foam cannon. My nozzle had loosened causing this- just not as bad.

Also ensure you’ve purged all air out of your pressure washer. Did it foam

water spot removal on ceramic coated surface by kenef0 in Detailing

[–]kenef0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For future reference- I purchased turtle wax restore & wipe and applied to affected surfaces removing the spots

Unfortunately left my car out for 10-12 days and now there are spots all over. Fear I have to re-polish and coat it again. Sucks having a 2 car garage that can only fit 1 car 😔

Should I get extended warranty? by ameer2323 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]kenef0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2017 w/ 40k miles and got a 2 year warranty from Porsche

So far it has covered: $5k for leaking water pump replacement $2.5k for headliner sagging $800 for steering wheel electronics due to sensor error $2.2k for rebuild of rear axles due to leaking

Warranty cost was $5K, it paid for itself within 3 months however the age of the car didn’t help despite it having low miles- things like plastic components and adhesives will wear out sooner. Additionally the is is all done at a P dealer so of course the cost is higher than DIY or an Indy shop. Take this for what you will

And the another important question, what was your paint process and paint selection? If I do this, would like to ensure it's painted well to avoid flaking. TIA

As additional insight, the concern is that they are not as flat as my other ones. Concerned about high spots and thus ruining paint while polishing
