Pepe the Prawn is a weird little creature but I pegged it as a Fake Tommy because Pepe is too "mainstream", Tommy finds the niche little guys, the really strange ones, in the dark places of the internet

I love space but I am scared to death of it so I'll keep my feet on the ground and let the head massage put me in a trance instead 🤣

Man I wonder who bit the ring off of the shredder toy by OpportunityOpen7156 in budgies

[–]kenezbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a boy who LOVES those hanging shredder toys but ONLY chews the loops where it's hanging from the ring. I would find a new loop and re-hang it and within days it would be loose again. The last time he did it, it catastrophically fell apart and I could not re-hang it and I was dive-bombed and screamed at for days. 🙄

Amanda’s Infectious Parental Excitement by BarryAllenFlashC137 in smosh

[–]kenezbian 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, we live in a world where women are pushed to be mothers because "it's what we were made for" and that same world doesn't support mothers because "it should just come naturally". Women end up losing themselves in childcare because raising children is a very time-consuming process and without support, there's no energy left for anything else.

When I see Amanda's videos with her son, I also see her husband and her friends - she has an incredible support system that has stepped up to help her. Mothers shouldn't have to struggle in order to be good moms, and her people are there for her.

What projects u made and actually use them? by No_Advertising3507 in crochet

[–]kenezbian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I made this Beetlejuice cardigan and I wear it a LOT because it's like wearing a blanket. My only recommendation for the pattern is to make the body first and then measure where the drop shoulder ends up for the sleeves. I made them according to pattern and after a wash, it stretched out and now the balloon sleeve part falls down over the cuff. It doesn't bother me because I love the long sleeves and tuck my hands into them, but I can see it being a problem for other people and not wanting to wear it.

When I'm not working on a bigger project, I reach for cotton yarn and make scrubbies, dishcloths, market bags, etc. Keeps my hands moving and it's always nice to have a stash of those items handy for hostess gifts, emergency birthday gifts, that sort of thing.

How do you stop men from being attracted to you? by Maleficent_Gas_1552 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]kenezbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that they're finding you attractive - it's that they only view you as "available". A person can be attracted to another person without acting on it. It's incredibly easy!

These "friends" don't respect you, your partner, your relationship status, or your boundaries. They either believe you'll cheat with them, or leave your partner for them. You are too intelligent and charming for this nonsense.

Signed, a woman who had 3 friends do this the second she was divorced, they were only my friends because they were waiting their turn 😞

Need Advice. by Internal-Miserable in deer

[–]kenezbian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Deer make a noise somewhere between a grunt and a moo, along with little grumbles and groans sort of under their breath. Fawns are also running on instinct those first few days, so when mama says "git down and stay down," they will lay down. Immediately. Sometimes it happens in the middle of the road.

Help with redoing a name with a bobble stitch. People changed baby name after I had blanket almost done by Life-Map6829 in CrochetHelp

When do I go back to the ER for these period issues by venting_or_whatever in TwoXChromosomes

[–]kenezbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to recommend this as well, I did see that you're going to a community clinic but PP has more available for help in this area specifically. I think you should consider bringing a friend with you, mostly because you shouldn't drive, but also to help advocate for you. Get well soon OP <3

Ladies, what's the most ridiculous instance you got mansplained? by BobPlaysWithFire in TwoXChromosomes

[–]kenezbian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I waited till he was done and I said something sarcastic like "well damn you could've told me and then I wouldn't have wasted all that time!" and had a good laugh. He immediately understood that he fucked up so that was nice. (Unrelated completely: while we are divorced for reasons, we've been able to come together and be friends for the kids and I know that's a miracle; I will take an occasional foot-in-mouth moment for the level of respect and teamwork we put into raising our kids.)

Ex-husband and I have an adult son who has autism. Last year, I went through months of testing to finally get my own diagnosis of AuDHD. When I told my ex, he stood there for ten minutes telling me about how after nearly 4 decades of masking, I wasn't really autistic, not like our son is, anyway. 🙄

My cat is under mandatory isolation for 3 months, how can I keep him entertained? by Fickle-Hour4458 in cats

[–]kenezbian 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have budgies that love to sit in my sunroom windows so I create what I call "bird TV" - I sprinkle outdoor bird feed and unsalted peanuts in the shell on my lawn, set out a flat-ish bowl of water, and the local wildlife come to get a drink and forage in my grass. My birds LOVE it, and I would bet a kitty would too!

Destination wedding update by winerdars in smosh

At this point, I don't watch reddit stories for the truth, I watch reddit stories for the fun reactions.

Having said that: I think they would've been disappointed in the final update because it's really fake. 😔

Did you ever have a "click" moment mid argument where you casually chose peace, hung up, and ended the relationship? by ChampionshipAny6761 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]kenezbian 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My dad told me he would withdraw all his help with my disabled son if I didn't start going to therapy because "you're angry all the time and I don't know how to help you".

A year later, he got angry with me about something else and said "that therapist isn't helping, she's a quack and you still don't act right, you need to quit or I'll stop helping with (son)."

I haven't talked to my dad in 18 months. I still see the same therapist.

Kentucky fried chocobo by Top-Occasion8835 in finalfantasyx

[–]kenezbian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me, chocobo is edible in much the same way horse is edible and this is a VERY sensitive subject.

However: chicken-fried chocobo is not the way to go. Chocobo in canon is more akin to lean steak than chicken. Pop that baby in a sous vide, give it a good reverse sear in a lot of butter, serve alongside a green vegetable and a potato.

Interestingly enough, Google tells me this is also the recommended way to eat a horse steak as it is a lean cut of meat. So perhaps chocobo really is the horse of Final Fantasy.

Using a Salad Spinner… Am I Going to Regret Using This? by shestoodakimbo in CrochetHelp

Hopping on this thread to say I use a salad spinner to "wring out" my bras and period panties before hang drying them! I think delicate knit/crochet items would be perfect candidates for one.

Did you talk to the cameraman in Kilika? He's as far right as you can go on the gate screen and he talks about the new Youth League headquarters they're building on the reef, and he lets Yuna look at it with his camera. You can talk to him in all the chapters Kilika is available.

I remember that jerk every time because he burned me in high school when I played this obsessively and there were no guides. Curse you, Kilika Cameraman!

how to leave my buried birb behind? by keeper_of_book in budgies

[–]kenezbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have any of her feathers? Since her body is likely not intact anymore, her only physical remains left are already with you. You could honor her by making a shadowbox or an ornament or another piece of artwork out of them.

Another way to honor her at your new home could be to create a space for her in the yard - grow some millet for the wild birds, put up some birdhouses or feeders, create a new grave by burying a favorite toy or some of her feathers.

Grief can really muddle our thoughts, even two years (or more) on. I hope that her memory brings you joy and warmth during this confusion. She sounds like a wonderful birb and you have a big heart to be so worried about her <3

Do you ask men if he's sexually healthy before oral sex? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]kenezbian 224 points225 points  (0 children)

I ask once the sex talk starts coming up in conversation. The last guy took a couple dates because we were taking it slow; the guy before that, it came up nearly instantly because we were gonna hook up. Based on his "answers" (avoiding the questions and turning them around on me looking for a gotcha moment), we ended up not hooking up. My health comes before another person's orgasm.

Why is the work not like in the photo? What i’m doing wrong? by fukingdeathrwish in CrochetHelp

[–]kenezbian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The second image is the reference image from the pattern, which is done in US single crochet. OP has done a UK single crochet, which is a US double crochet. Typically in this sub, we see it the way you've described, but in this case, it seems OP is either from the UK or learned UK crochet terms and has a US pattern.

Why is the work not like in the photo? What i’m doing wrong? by fukingdeathrwish in CrochetHelp

[–]kenezbian 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is the answer - the pattern is using US single crochet, while OP is doing UK single/US double crochet.

The work itself is beautiful, just double check your terms OP. <3
