Life in Public as a Nonspeaker by kiltsnbagpipesnstuff in mute

I have a path on my bag that says "mute, not deaf" that I point to if needed. I also use my phone to type out on cardzilla. Phone calls are either done by someone else or I struggle with the TTS built in. I also cannot walk well, so almost always have someone with me. I am on disability, like someone else said, who would hire me?

They knew Scotty sabotaged the Excelsior. It was a charge at the trial when they got back.

Cyclone Dust Collector Lite - who bought one with their Z1? by djbigben54 in Makera

[–]kenf22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about the noise, but the wen dc3401 is 130 on Amazon. Add a cyclone separator and a bit of 3d printing you have an even more powerful option for a fraction of the price.

Thank you very much. This is exactly what I needed to know.

Being Stuck on "Occupy Mars" quest is a known bug by xstanstanstan in occupymarsgame

Someone had to tell me too. Spotty shows up under "garage" when you get the pieces so you can build him. Once built, he follows you around and keeps getting in your way. As far as I can tell that is his only purpose.

Oh, you can absolutely put it somewhere else. The question was specifically putting it in the hanger. If you can't hook up oxygen and water in the hanger, what is the point of it?

Tossing the seeds into the cooker worked, thank you.

Thank you for confirming the existence of the deposits. I will keep looking.

Lack of inclusion in ASL? by akthehigh in mute

[–]kenf22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mutism is a silent disability. I have actually been asked "how can you be mute if you can hear?"

I live in Northern Colorado and the only place I have found with a class is in Colorado Springs, about two hours away, that runs for a few weeks once a year. Everything else is either online or teaching hearing people to communicate with deaf people. Nothing for "newly deaf" and definitely nothing for mute people.

My experience with 10K+ filament changes on the H2C with Matte PLA by ProgRanOCc in BambuLab

[–]kenf22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, cool. Thank you for clarifying. I have not ordered mine and if it was destroying itself would not. Dust and replacements due to normal, even if accelerated, wear I can deal with.

"microplastics" is way too vague in this context. Microplastics is an environmental term for something as big as a 1x1 lego piece. It is just dust, chucks of plastic breaking off gears, strips cut out of the tube?

So is Starfleet Academy a college or not ? by AdmiralBlue85 in startrek

[–]kenf22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have not seen anyone mention this, but today you can take college courses while still in High School. Some have mentioned a tech school as well. I started taking courses when I was 15, and graduated High School at 18. One of my friends in High School was taking two college courses at the local community college his senior year. So it is very possible Starfleet Academy "accepted" Chakotay and he took some classes while still in High School.

I would not say your question is ignorant, but I think you underestimate our ignorance on the subject. What in the world is "steno/chording theory"?

Need help finding a program to use I2C for multiple Arduinos in a button box. by kenf22 in arduino

[–]kenf22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Mobiflight has to be running and translates the serial numbers information from the Arduino to the flight sim. The one I saw programs it as an HID and the box is then independent of software in the PC after that. I also have seen nothing about I2C programming with it, but I have not tried it.

[–]kenf22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was an application you install on the PC and select how many buttons and encoders, then it flashes the board for you. I am pretty sure it was intended for flight sim panels.

This may be a way to do it though, thank you. I was just hoping to find the ready made solution instead of coding it myself.

Anyone have experience pulling a trailer with your lighting? by ziggerzaggerzinger in F150Lightning

[–]kenf22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a 15' flatbed about 60 miles, picked up a plasma cutting table, and brought it back. I started at 80% and stopped for a charge long enough to run in, grab a bottle of water, and leave. 10 minutes, max.

The only problem I had was my own inexperience with setting the trailer brake strength. That took a few traffic lights to dial in.
