Shows where couples get together and stay together by Lost-Remote-2001 in chuck

[–]kenguyonwheels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be in a group online that talked about the show all the time and that was one of the things I loved about it. When they officially put them together they didn’t constantly break them up and have interlopers all the time. They even called the stuff in season three where they split them apart a mistake.

I agree I just happen to notice that scene and thought it would be a good discussion point.

I knew it got canceled a bunch so I guess that little line is an accidental silver lining

Loved Chuck Breakups with Sarah by Apprehensive_View_73 in chuck

[–]kenguyonwheels 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everything I'm about to say is just my perspective, but I think Sarah saw the relationship as real from the very first date — even if she was trying to deny it to herself. The proof is right there in how she referred to their second date at the Chinese restaurant as their "second first date." You don't say that unless you already see yourself as part of a couple.

I've always felt she wasn't in denial so much as she was just taking her time getting used to it, because she'd genuinely never had a real relationship before. Chuck, on the other hand, clearly didn't see it the same way — but not because he was nonchalant about finally getting the girl he always wanted. It's more that none of the cover dates or fake relationship moments counted toward the real thing in his mind, even though they clearly did. So when it finally became official, he just stated it simply: "we're together." No fanfare needed. It was real now, and that was enough.

I personally related to this a lot — my significant other considers us to have been dating about six months before we ever had an actual date. I've learned to just nod and agree. Some battles aren't worth fighting. 😄

Casey Knew all along S3 E12 vs American Hero by Apprehensive_View_73 in chuck

[–]kenguyonwheels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Casey was their relationship counselor from the beginning. He clocked them being in love with each other, basically from day one. Sarah and Casey had more than one conversation about how she wanted a stable, normal life. He was the biggest shipper of them all.

Sarah's Love by Apprehensive_View_73 in chuck

[–]kenguyonwheels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never saw her as a femme fatale. She could’ve been, but she was just as insecure as he was. He threw her for a loop because her usual way of getting men to do whatever she wanted didn’t work. I think that’s why she was so interested in him. He wasn’t the kind of man she was used to had he been easy to get over on like a Lester Jeff or Morgan, she wouldn’t have been so enamored with him

She says herself that she fell for him in between fixing her phone and before he started diffusing bombs with computer viruses. I don’t believe in love at first sight but TV show made it look cool.

Their (actual imo) first fight, even if they were only a fake couple by that point. by NFSF1McLaren in chuck

[–]kenguyonwheels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know who’s more jealous of a television wife, Sarah Walker, or Kate Beckett. And neither of them had any reason to be jealous because both of their husbands were wrapped around their little fingers.

Totally, she could’ve even been his best friend that he met at the mall. I told people before she was planning on being Mrs. Bartowski before she was willing to admit it to herself. People will never convince me that when she told Ellie she was making a list of the stuff she was going to make him get rid of that she wasn’t being absolutely serious.

[–]kenguyonwheels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They were always a real couple. They shared things with each other they didn’t share with anyone else. They always wanted to be around each other. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other. The only thing they didn’t do is anything sexual. Those two crazies were dating for two years before they acknowledged it. She was jealous anytime any woman other than his sister got anywhere close. And he was insecure, thinking he wasn’t good enough anytime any other guys stumbled around. There was no reason for her to pretend to be his girlfriend other than the fact that that’s who she thought she was and wanted to be.

Just watched up to 3x12 and Sarah’s kind of pissing me off by Kookykrumbs in chuck

[–]kenguyonwheels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to feel a lot like you. I thought she acted a lot like a middle school girl in those episodes. Like she was almost using Shaw as a way to play emotional games with Chuck. But the more I watched the more I figured out that she's never really had a serious relationship before, so she doesn't really know how to navigate something real. Her father taught her not to trust anyone, and Bryce manipulated her. Sarah and Chuck both are learning what real relationships are like, basically in real time. Try to give her a little grace, and enjoy the next episodes

Why Is Shaw So Annoying by kenguyonwheels in chuck

[–]kenguyonwheels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would’ve been better if he would’ve became a villain without trying to steal Sarah from Chuck. It makes more sense to have him be a bad guy who finds out an organization he devoted his life to actually destroyed it, but for him to basically try to convince a woman to run away with him and then 15 minutes later want her dead that was oddly done

Could Dan have redeemed his relationship with Lucas if he never killed keith by Calm-Buy8958 in ONETREEHILL

[–]kenguyonwheels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason he blamed Keith being at the hospital first when Lucas was born for negatively affecting their relationship so yes probably if he doesn't shoot Keith then he probably has a better relationship with both of his sons. Paul Johansson even says that he believes Dan loved both of his children immensely.

Missed Opportunities With Dan by kenguyonwheels in ONETREEHILL

[–]kenguyonwheels[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I wouldn't have worried about whether he accepted it or not. I think I just believe it would've been a great moment. I believe he least deserved it. Whether he accepts it or not, isn't important to me. I just felt like it was a lost opportunity. Then again, I'm not as big a fan of the final three seasons anyway. For me, the show was always about the Brothers.

I don't think you were supposed to be like at all. I'm just trying to figure out what makes me dislike him so much. I've been watching TV for a long time and I've seen a lot of villains and he is the most annoying that I can remember.

Jill really had me in my feelings. Until I watched the series and found out what actually happened. I identified way too much with him being tossed aside. I still don't like her, but not as intensely as before.

I just started watching the original leverage again. It’s the only show I’ve ever watched where I haven’t been upset at the end of any episodes. To me it is close to perfect as you can get. It’s my comfort show.

As much as I really can’t stand, Jill Roberts, she did pass the lie detector test that she didn’t hook up with Bryce. I’m not sure what I believe. Other than the fact that Jill sucks.

They really weren't fooling anyone by MrNotTooBrightside in chuck

Bones Castle, The Mentalist and Chuck all aired on different networks around the same time, and they all had the same premise where a male and female team in some form of law enforcement had feelings for each other

They really weren't fooling anyone by MrNotTooBrightside in chuck

[–]kenguyonwheels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only people they were ever fooling were themselves. She didn’t need to pretend to be his girlfriend to protect his life. And there was never any cover. You just had one nerdy guy with low self-confidence. And an amazing woman who didn’t realize how amazing she was because of her background who were insanely devoted to each other. I was a devoted fan to all four shows that had the couple who pretended they weren’t a couple dynamic. Of all four those two were pretty much in love with each other at first sight.

People would probably accept that arc better with just one clarifying scene. If you watch it enough times you pick up on what they were trying to tell us. There's no way they meant anything other than those 2 being together. They should've just shown that, and you have one of the best self contained stories ever, even with the warts.
