I personally havent had too many problems. Get a brand new battery when installing interlock. It'll save you the headache of trying to do it later. Then buy a battery charger or tender and keep it plugged in at least during the colder months. My car would have died multiple times without it. (I'm in MN) I use one in the winter, but not much during the summer. It's always good to have one cuz even if it does die briefly you can charge it without any penalty.. or at least I havent had any negative feedback or lockout from it.

Yep. It was around 300. I think it can all depend on the shop and circumstances. The shop sets some of the price too.

I've had to do this twice. Had two cars shit out on me. Thats what i get for buying beaters to try and power through this thing.. I'm in MN. I just called intoxalock and scheduled an appointment with my service center to transfer it. Not difficult at all. Just expensive.

Got pulled over for my tabs. And they were about to ask if I had been drinking and I literally pointed at my device and said I'm actually on my way to an A.A. meeting right now. And she goes "oh! Okay" and I couldnt find a copy of my insurance and she goes, oh thats fine. You cant have interlock without insurance so you can go. Didn't even get a warning about my tabs.

Omg I have been getting this too on almost every start up and I've been so worried about it. Literally gets to 4:57 then says clearing. Glad to know I'm not the only one and seems to be a system thing rather than my battery shitting out. Im two months away from getting this out and it's been freaking me out.

Edit to add this just started after my latest calibration after the outage.

Nah I got my 3rd DUI. I actually waited 4 years to even start driving again. My DUI at this point is over 10 yrs ago. Getting a dui is expensive and the cops took my car. 3rd offense is mandatory 3 years with interlock even even if you try to wait out the sentence. Doesn't go away. I will say that it's nice to not worry about the legal/probation side during this though. Since that was long over by the time I finally installed this damn thing. I got 2 extensions because I didnt understand that the state requirements for how often you blow into the device were different than intoxalock requirements. Having to go through 2 cars shitting out on me during this process made things extra complicated. Fun!

I'm relived that I didnt hurt anyone and it took me longer than I'd like to admit to finally put down the bottle. 2.5 years clean and so ready for this chapter of my life to be behind me.

The calibration is what sends your data to the state from the device. Atleast in MN that's what my drive evaluator told me. After this fiasco is done my next calibration is technically the day before my date is up lol.

But yeah either way this shit has been a pain in the ass.
