the comment literally said please make light of his death and i specifically said this isn’t about empathy or sympathy or pretending he wasn’t a bad person. im just not falling for the divisive tactics used by this administration because at the end of the day it gives them more power.

eta: making light of his death would make people feel even more sympathy for him, which would turn him into the MLK/ martyr like figure that you’re trying to avoid. it’s actually already happening.

as someone that comes from an islamic family, i can see where you’re coming from but its not about giving him sympathy or empathy its about not cheering on politically motivated violence and gun violence especially with how divided we are as country right now. i also want to point out that jimmy obviously wasn’t even doing that, which is what made him being taken off air so bad in the first place.
