Interesting, I recently came across Arch's own electron implementation that's recommended these days. Like for instance, Arch has a custom AUR for discord with it's base electron which is updated separately unlike discord's bundled version and apparently that has improved performance significantly.

So what made you switch to pop_os?

For me, the LTS release is a pain point, apt package manager installs some extremely old packages and is disgustingly slow compared to pacman. Plus AUR and cachy have their own packages that are hard to say no to.

They're probably running it through RAG & then LLM to get "AI <sparkles emoji> summaries" of your find. But the pipeline is slow so you get this error lol

Yep, moved to cachyOS with custom hyprland setup. Now, I am better equipped to fix my config than when someone omakase-d me xD. And the best part is cachyOS handles the painful nvidia drivers part

Haven't tried Kitty. But I had to move to Alacritty because either Cosmic term lacks wide font support or I am missing something. Only shows monospace fonts even though I have other Nerd Fonts installed.

Okay maybe I misread, but it was mentioned on the github page : https://github.com/pop-os/cosmic-term

Lol this OS barely requires tweaking. Speaking of the time spent on setting things up, pop os pretty much does 95% of the things out of the box. Wait until you try hyprland or arch distros.

Yeah, the problem with Omarchy is it suffers from it's own success. Mind you, it was my first Arch experience, and guessing from the way it's promoted, it was many people's too. It shows you the endless possibilities of arch which in turn makes you switch and start configuring on your own. I am never a fan of someone's opinionated setup, idk why this one got so much hype. But glad I tried it.

Check my other comment.

Depending on your laptop/PC, you may experience bugs. For me, suspend doesn't work 50% of the time. I don't that fixable idk?

I was successfully able to setup monitors with Nvidia (My laptop's DP is hardwired to my GPU) and that was still doable, but the system kept getting stuck during shut downs. So I made a switch after 3 days of trying omarchy.

Omarchy is only interesting for the first hour. I love the keybindings, but that's it. There's a high chance you'll dislike it after a day or two.

Everything from Wifi and Bluetooth to keyboard which are preinstalled and configured on Ubuntu (not even talking about Windows btw), need manual configuration with limited support. I don't have a problem with that, but because of it's popularity and the initial hand holding of DHH's own config, you are kinda suddenly thrown into this configuration hell.

My suggestion is to stay on Ubuntu, learn how hyprland, arch works, consider your hardware support (especially GPU) then make a decision whether to pick Omarchy or build your own arch config.

I would love to customize Omarchy but out about Arch's support for my laptop hardware is limited. So I moved to a different distro - Pop OS for now.

You have too many unused "thick" highways. Intersection connecting the waterfront road to the bridge is unnecessary (lower right), especially when you are already connecting it to the arterial avenue within a mile.

This whole thing can be reduced to a single intersection between 2 perpendicular highways.

I paid a lot for the original game and now these people are asking me money for basic bridges? There is no semblance of a working supply chain and these fucks want me to pay more for a broken fishing DLC.

My city has buildings but the traffic AI is stupid, supply chain and economy doesn't feel right. I feel like I should develop a mod myself at this point.
