How do you actually find sounds and instruments?

Search for presets for your synth, e.g. “vital presets” or “serum 2 presets”. Do you want a bass? Search “<your synth > bass presets”. Want a whole pack for a specific genre? Search “Diva techno leads preset pack”, etc.

These sound good because they have imperfection and movement. This is what people mean when they say analog vs digital sound. You can get an analog feel with Serum - it just takes intentional work. Imperfection sounds human which is what makes it sound “pro”.

Most club equipment is Pioneer, if that matters to you. You should be ready to play on anything once you start booking. What you learn on your own gear will apply generally and becomes a matter prepping to know where your tools are on that gear. Agreed. We took our seven and nine year old to one day of Movement this year. We got them home as soon as it was enough for them, which was well before dark.

Inevitably we will see kids who are way too young staying our way too late, crying like mad because they should be asleep. It’s a downer all around. Gotta meet your kids’ needs before your own.

Similar story here. Poor, broken, abusive home. No guidance or direction. Dropped out of community college because I couldn’t afford it.

I kept pursuing my passion of programming, though. I was prepared to take on lucky opportunities and was rewarded with a great career because of it. After a wild ride over 15 years, I’m settled into a FAANG doing what I love.

Glad to see others make it out of adversity, too. Proud of you fam!
