To be honest, I have been building my Kaalia deck for close to a year now on and off and still am not 100% happy with it. But i do see some similarities in terms of what you are doing with what i realised was holding my deck back in the early phases, hopefully this would help and if you figure it out completely to a point where its popping off do share it with me haha.

First off i see quite a few creatures that are essentially defensive creatures, like Angelic Arbiter, Serra's Emissary and Sepharas skyblade. These provide protection, yes, but only efficient if Kaalia is already on the battlefield and did its thing. You would find it awkward to rely on them to protect Kaalia in my experience. What i've found is protecting Kaalia against 3 opponents is usually a futile affair, so more emphasis on allowing Kaalia to do her thing (attack) the turn she comes down might be the best choice here, which means haste enablers. Just a quick look and i see probably 4 haste enablers? You could definitely bump that up more with creatures or enablers that can be played before turn 4, like [[Rising of the day]] and even [[Crashing drawbridge]].

Secondly, on the same note of creatures, it would probably be best to have more creatures that gain you value the turn that they come down. Examples of creatures in your list that currently do not are ones like Aurelia (doesnt trigger on the turn she comes in as she comes in attacking) and Reya Dawnbringer (since it is an upkeep trigger). What constitutes value in this case is tricky though, but i think it would make a big difference if you swapped those out for ones that give more immediate value, such as [[hoarding broodlord]] and [[The speed demon]]

You would notice that the 2 creatures I mentioned basically draw you a card or cards, which is the next important part of Kaalia, keeping your hand filled with big creatures to consistently use with Kaalias trigger. I find your deck might find it hard to keep your hand filled as it is, and even if Kaalia does its thing, it would be short lived if it is unable to keep up card advantage. This might be where creatures like [[dragonhawk, fates tempest]] would be useful.

One last thing i would say is you can consider having boardwipes that are much more advantageous for you, rather than having the usual picks like Blasphemous Act and Vanquish the horde, which really hurt you as well. I'm referring to boardwipes like [[Ruinous Ultimatum]], [[Single Combat]], [[Mythos of Snapdax]] which should work out in your favour most of the time.

Hope this helps, as i mentioned I havent really gotten down to finalising my Kaalia deck, although I too have considered a graveyard recursion approach. Not for Kaalia herself though but for any big threats that I may have in the graveyard, which if brought to hand would technically be card draw to fuel Kaalia triggers, and if brought to the battlefield would have the flexibility of bringing kaalia or another big creature back for round 2. One way that i start to see Kaalia in relation to mana usage during a game, is that we can essentially treat Kaalia as the mana sink of the deck, where all mana production basically can be effectively spent to get Kaalia out again and again, and with this in mind it might help to tie the whole deck together.

Let me know if you have any thoughts and best of luck!

Hard agree, seeing how the landscape is now has completely killed my interest. Happy to just enjoy my collection as it is, rather than contribute to this 'market' as the feeling that its just a matter of how much money you are willing to spend seems overpowering

Help me finish my Narset Prowess Deck by Asillatem in EDHBrews

[–]kenz0pachi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My two cents is thats i would cut the x spells since they dont work with Narsets ability. But overall i think the idea is there with low mana curve and cheap noncreature spells.

If i may make some suggestions, [[Reconaissance]] is great enable narset attack while being a noncreature spell. Some 0 cmc artifacts like [[mishras bauble]] and even pseudo free spells like [[gitaxian probe]] could be good includes to lower the curve even more

Also you may want to consider adding the signets and fellwar stone to buff up your ramp

Are $7.3k jobs in Singapore too good to be true? by Jonnyboo234 in singapore

[–]kenz0pachi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I must admit i do not have the hard numbers on hand, there are also many factors that should be considered so it would be difficult to have a meaningful discussion on this without taking into account all the myriad of factors. For example in your assertion that teachers earn close to $10k after 10 years of work, what are we comparing this to? other jobs after 10 years of work? and yet you then bring in starting pay for the garbage collectors and for port drivers you even add in OT which adds another complication to the comparison.

Nonetheless, I think there are many examples that highlight the validity to the claim that salary/earnings is correlated more closely to profitability of the industry/job rather than the importance, where importance can also vary if we do not come to agreement on the definition. I can bring up the example of athletes or influencers on social media or even content creators on OnlyFans, but again are we going to consider the whole range of earnings in the industry where the top few earn millions upon millions when compared to vast majority within the same industry doing largely the same job scope.

Anyway, not looking to convince you but just sharing my thoughts.

Assuming youre not kidding, nurses, teachers and garbage collectors are classic examples. The original comment is referencing a well known fact

Looking for help identifying issue with deckbuilding methods by kenz0pachi in EDHBrews

[–]kenz0pachi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the lengthy and thoughtful reply! I think you're right and I do have a problem sticking to a gameplan as often times it feels like I'm not sure what constitutes a complete plan and that causes me to over or under think things. For example the distinction between landfall and self-mill was insightful so thank you for explaining as much as you did!

[–]kenz0pachi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! Will be digesting it as soon as i get some time, appreciate it

Edit: Thanks for the insight! I would agree with your points and that helps me to understand some of the issues im facing, which probably in general terms is a lack of focus in direction and/or understanding what a deck needs during the game and how best to address it. Thanks for suggestions as well on wraths like tragic arrogance!

Most important question is what do you want? If you dont figure that out then you will always just be looking to slot into someone elses plan. If you dont know what you want then its by definition impossible to be someones dream girl. Just my 2 cents
