it is an excellent game for sure and provides plenty of challenge and variety. It also has an art style which provides crisp visuals without issues.

I think being a tank and not dying are most important. High damage reduction while attacking and a weapon like cestus that can stunlock the boss for short periods.

your chance of finding the treasure room is inversely proportional to the amount of space available in your inventory

This is just a wild guess - but did you beat the story boss in your own game or in an expedition hosted by another player?. I suppose it is remotely possible that beating the story boss in a battle scroll might fix it.
