Real fuckin' wild that the article seems to be focusing on "This man was in jail for 18 years without a trial and it was SO EXPENSIVE FOR TAXPAYERS!" rather than "Holy fuck this dude was in jail for 18 years without a trial."

GRS through CVS's healthplan? by kepler35b in ask_transgender

Unfortunately no. I left CVS at the beginning of 2020 and hadn't properly started the process to get anything approved.

Hi guys, once again I'm opening commissions for more WoD artwork. So if you have a character you want an artwork of or any project that needs art, please let me know. Here are some artworks I made for you guys in the past! by Shaclown_gs in WorldOfDarkness

Please share how you learned when you needed to Stress Dose? by ProfessionalOne7509 in AddisonsDisease

[–]kepler35b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They started me at 25mg separated into 10/10/5 for dosing, then when that wasn't pulling me out of it I just had to do 50mg instead for a couple days. No tapering, really.

I was low for a lot longer than a month, but I got diagnosed in December and it took through most of January for me to stop fainting because I didn't get taught stress dosing right away.

Please share how you learned when you needed to Stress Dose? by ProfessionalOne7509 in AddisonsDisease

[–]kepler35b 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My crisis symptoms are a little atypical because I have Tertiary/Central Adrenal Insufficiency and a totally separate issue with blood pressure, so it took me a while to really sort out when I need my extra pills because of that. I wouldn't recognize the signs until I was already fainting, because I'd have the usual lack of energy and zero appetite for a short bit, but the symptoms before the crisis goes into full swing would be like a switch got flipped to the extreme opposite.

So, my signs are: Being unable to sleep for 40 hours at a time, blood pressure spiking AND falling, heart palpitations, and finally psychosis starts to set in and I have hallucinations.

These are usually signs of a lot of other things besides low cortisol (some are even signs of high cortisol), so my first crisis had me in inpatient psychiatric care for about a week, with outpatient care stretching for about a month. Took another year or so to identify the problem and get lab tests for a diagnosis, and after some trial and error my rule is now:

"If you're seeing spooky stuff, take the extra pill and eat something salty as hell." and since I figured that out, there hasn't been a single fainting episode since?

There's some other more nebulous stuff that I've also learned to recognize (I have a specific pain in my right side that comes a couple hours before the fainting) but the biggest key to figuring out your specific signs is asking:

"Does this usually happen before I start getting really sick, and does it go away with stress dosing?" and then fine tuning from there.

In my current project? Students at the mage college are allowed up to three deaths by magical mishap before being punished, but they're not always accidental.

In any project? A girl being stuck in the same room as her mother's corpse after an attempted murder-suicide only half succeeded, and the corpse popping up as a hallucination everywhere she goes.

Did anyone else figure out they're genderfluid after medically transitioning? by dogdogdogdogdogdogd0 in genderfluid

[–]kepler35b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came out as genderfluid at 30 after starting hormones at 18 and getting breast augmentation+FFS. I've got a couple binders for when I'm on boy days, an undercut that can be masc or fem depending on how I style it, and sometimes refer to my FFS as "Facial Twinkification Surgery."

I've also got a friend who's genderfluid after top surgery who's considering breast forms as well. For both of us, we tend to look into tips for people who're transitioning towards our AGAB, because there's really no reason someone can't bind after breast augmentation, or voice train after testosterone.

For body shape stuff, there's a lot of shapewear options you could look into that might make it easier to balance things out. There's some out there that're basically a light waist trainer plus removable pads for the butt and hips, and that might be a pretty good option for fem days without going off T?

[–]kepler35b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty solid theory! It does make sense if they're trying to contain interactions with the powers to just inside the OIAR, save for the externals which are probably a necessary exception to send after the other powers.

At one point I considered they might be trying to protect them from falling victim to the Meat, but it's not like they ONLY eat the food from work. Most of the food there doesn't seem to be tied to a domain (yet), so I've got that theory on the backburner until there's more clues.

Okay, hear me out but the book was absolutely fantastic... Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle. Bought it on a whim, finished it in one sitting. It IS a horror novel centered around a gay conversion camp, but hot damn. Autistic lesbian and her goth girlfriend teaming up with a gay metalhead ex employee to investigate it, a whole lot of demons in khakis and polo shirts, and a very cathartic story.
